
So there's one thing that's bugged me the most about this wonderful game... Once any adventure is started, you are stuck with the ship class you selected in the very beginning.
I dunno how this would be implemented (playing with somebody else's script engine/language I can do, but coding an entire game ... not so much)
So say you make it thru the Juno sub-quests, what about a new option on completion to actually buy a new shipclass at JunoPoint? For plot's sake it would have to be limited by your military rank and then limited to the Commonwealth military ship classes, but later on the Ringer's shipyards could have a few other races' ships (like the Ares') or some such like that. Of course, for balance, it would all have to be hideously expensive.

From a Nethack viewpoint, this would be like switching from a Fighter Class to, say, a Wizard Class, but that's one of the things in this game that is not 'Rogue-like', we are playing pilots in a ship, not the ship itself....
