Just to throw in some new combos: illegal tag and shield generator.
I'm thinking something strong, with a bad side effect. eg: radiation poisoning.
"The Banner shield generator utilized innovative new quantum particle theories to create an almost invincible barrier. Unfortunately, when the device was powered on, it flooded the test ship with radiation."
The shield would have extremely high resistance to damage, but would irradiate the playership. It could either just be a text based countdown similar to the life support warning, or it could actually green the ship, in which case it'd have to be installed powered off.
It'd be a good shield to use if you had strong armor but couldn't afford to boost reactor strength yet. The shield would be cheap since it's "defective", and low on power consumption otherwise it'd be passed up for bigger, more power consuming shields.
It might even work well if meteorsteel and worldplate worked with a few generators.

I like the idea...radiation-immune armor is generally heavier than normal armor (for the same hp). That might be a good trade-off.
Maybe a new Sapiens ship should have something like that.

I think it would be great if whenever the shield failed and had to recharge from zero, it would irradiate you again. So if you're caught with your shields down and no decon barrel...you have to turn it off and run.
