This is to brainstorm ideas for ships.

Note: Ideas for capships should have a good reason for wanting a new capship (most of the really bad ship ideas are capships).

Faction: Ares
Weapons: Ares Arch Cannon, Another Ares weapon or dual weapon with non-ion damage.
Armor/Shields: Light ares armor (same as sandstorm), Yori S100ish
Thrust: little slower than barbary
Turning Ratio: like barbary
Mass: little heavier than barbary
Reason: All of the ares ships (ones that move) have Ion damage as thier primary, late-game needs more variety to balance Ion reflection crystals.

I am not sure If this qualifyies as a ship but I find it annoying that particle reflection will make a person completely immune to the sung except for maby thier capship.

Sung Defense Turret

Description: This Turret fires small Ions at a target. While not enough to pierce through armor or cause damage to the equipment within. This weapon can damage shields significantly.

Will not damage shields as much as a heiliotrope's blinder cannon, but will be enough to deter a particle reflecting ship from approaching a Sung Fortress or Sung Citadel.

Maybe adding a couple of Earth Enslavers around the fortresses will do the job. The can take down your shiels with cyberattacks. They already show up around citadels.

No good, this is to work against people who have the Yori MX and a crystal. By the time you have an MX you usually have a Hanzo, Katana, or Nando. The Earth Slaver (not Enslaver) is much. much, much to weak to accomplish this. This is not necesarily to make a fortress/citadel harder as much as make it so that damage cannot be completely ignored. I would also like to see factions that restrict themselves to one damage type get ships that have multiple different damage types to reduce the effect of particle/ion crystals/strong resistances.

There is no point anyway because you can always take out the towers with long range attacks, add instead 4 Earth Slavers to chase you when you first hit the Fortress and you'll see what happens if the other Slavers are also around.

The point was to stop the player from being right up close. keeping 4 Earth Slavers would simply make it impossible to defeat if you encounter one right after the Arena.

Does an auton qualify as a ship?

This auton would run at the nearest enemy station (NOT AAC turret) and explode (would be shot at if the defeders weren't destracted first :)).

I originally created this thread to be like "pitch ideas for new items" on the UTF so please forgive my thread necromancy:

Ares Volcano:

Basically this is an idea for an alternate capship for the Commetfall (if there isn't one already)

Armor: Two plates of armor in the 50-80 hp-range, I play the Wolfen so I am not familiar with those kinds of armors.
Shields: Cydonian
Weapons: Along the lines of two (omni) Ares Lightning cannons and a weapon of a different damage type
Mass: Polar-like
Turning Rate: Hurin-like
Thrust: A little less than Hurin.

Heliotrope Mobile Platform:

Behavior: found near stars or vegitative planets serching for plants, conducting experiments, and/or collecting solar energy. Has an escort which may contain one or (rarely) more Heliotrope Destoryers.

Armor: Similar in strength to the Marauder Raid Platform
Shields: Solon
Weapons: (omni) Sunflare
Mass: Marauder Platform-like
Turning Rate: Maurauder Platform-like.
Thrust: Ranx Gunship-like
