I have an old mod that, with tweaks, could be a good addition.
Basically, a steam-based anti-missile system. Use a bit of water ice and spray a super-heated steam blast at the missile, causing it to detonate before hitting you. (I used a tighter spread PK25 MorningStar shot). It would work best with a thicker plasma shot with white/light blue coloring. One tank of water ice provides maybe 100 shots.
Also, yes, the accuracy of the ICX needs to be improved for the player. I think an effective, balanced missile defense would shoot down 70-80% of incoming missiles at high cost, or 50% of missiles at a moderate cost.
Missile Defense Systems Nerfed?
While we're on the subject of ICX....the old main use was against the Disintegrator shots......does anyone specifically use Transuranic armor to combat the blue sparks of doom? or do people just rely on shields?

I usually just dodge them into a planet...Shrike wrote:While we're on the subject of ICX....the old main use was against the Disintegrator shots......does anyone specifically use Transuranic armor to combat the blue sparks of doom? or do people just rely on shields?
[schilcote] It doesn't have to be good, it just has to not be "wow is that the only thing you could think of" bad
I used to do that. Now I generally collect 1M/i autons and send ~40 of them in (If I'm lucky, 3 will survive), and then bang away with a positron lancer while it's busy dealing with them, while disabling the sentinals as they arrive.schilcote wrote:I usually just dodge them into a planet...Shrike wrote:While we're on the subject of ICX....the old main use was against the Disintegrator shots......does anyone specifically use Transuranic armor to combat the blue sparks of doom? or do people just rely on shields?
(Why 1M/i? Because they can drop the shield, so I don't have to

Transuranic armor only works on the freighter; too heavy for any of the others, as I remember.

You all make the command ship way more difficult than it has to be.
Keep 3 Gems of Freezy Timey around, use one, park in place, then blast away. Only need to punch through one armor plate. There's no sentinels to bother you, no return fire from the command ship, you could go in with no shields and ultralight titanium plate, as long as you got lamplighter, the sung archcannon, and two or three of those gems.
If you want to have a "final showdown" then use a Gem of Hurt Everything Onscreen instead. You'll have 1 HP armor, the Iocrym will have 1 HP armor. Whoever gets the first shot wins!
The hardest addition to the game in my opinion is the CSC Antarctica. I always try to save her, and use up my halo gems in the process.

Problem is... the Iocrym command ship is not affected by gems of contrition.hookoa wrote:You all make the command ship way more difficult than it has to be.

Ok, ICX and missiles are reballanced; ICX is now level IV, and missiles are (slightly?) weaker [less HP that is, not talkinga bout damage].
