Stealth brought up an seemingly 'innocent' question about his age in the game, or how does time progress in game.

http://www.neurohack.com/transcendence/ ... php?t=2998

This goes in line with other questions about 'time' in the game, such as the Belfruit Question: http://www.neurohack.com/transcendence/ ... ight=fruit by Shrike.

I have no idea how much is 'time' related in the game. I do know that Tinkers get more money over a period of a few minutes, plenty of times I have attempted to sell lots of damages stuff by sitting on the tinker's hitting A, waiting, then docking to sell a few more items, undocking, hitting A, waiting, docking, sell a few more items....

I assume that time advances faster when one uses auto-pilot. After all parking over the local star and hitting A to recoup my HP losses (love patching arms BTW) the ships wizz by, even the slow cargo ships have a bit more speed.

How difficult would it be to add a clock/calendar to the HUD to give a person of how much lapsed time has passed since they started out on their grand adventure? Wouldn't it be a useful tool for the delivery of Fruit (which I guess expires, never did this one)?

Time is dilated by a factor of 30 in game. So 1 second of real time is equivalent to 30 seconds game time. A long game that lasts 12 hours to get all the way to Heretic is only 15 days in game time (assuming no usage of autopilot)
Autopilot speeds up game time by a factor of 10 I believe (but not certain).
Stations gain credits approximately every 6.66 minutes real time without autopilot.

When the player is in a system, time does not pass in the other systems. If you fire a missile in one system, gate out go all the way to heretic and then come back, it is possible to catch up to your missile (assuming it's lifetime was long enough and you could catch up to it). The system does run some 'catch-up' time but not very much.

Currently, we cannot put anything on the dockscreen but we're hoping that changes. Keeping track of time and converting it to something readable that could be put in a dockscreen would not be difficult at all.

No wonder there's such a booming trade in Tempus......if there IS a lingering effect of the stasis drugs used during autopilot, a drug that makes things seem slower would be seriously useful for a career pilot.
