Breaking News Update:
It was during the games held at the Battle Maximus Arena yesterday, that the spectators housed on the northeast side of the arena received a piece of the action. It was the last half of a bout between Darth Saber and the Slicer, when an apparent gap between the protective energy barricades near the northeast corner was discovered as Darth Saber was seen spinning through it while firing a PK MorningStar cannon. Although no one except the Slicer were seriously injured, angry spectators were calling for an investigation. Battle Maximus Arena has refused to comment, and calls to its PR department have gone unanswered.

Perhaps this disappears for you, but the hole is open whether or not I am in the arena; consequently, I have to be ever careful where I am aiming during the battle. And yeah, my ship has been sent flying out the hole more times than one. Perhaps next time, I can get the Slicer to follow me through the hole; that would make for an interesting screenshot......it will disappear when you are in the arena playing. Its like an alternate entry point for it.

That used to have that happen, where the stuff would go out and I would get arrested. But it was fixed in 1.04 least every game I've played.Darth Saber wrote:Perhaps this disappears for you, but the hole is open whether or not I am in the arena; consequently, I have to be ever careful where I am aiming during the battle. It's a long-known issue that the walls have issues with projectiles getting through (or ships, if they are moving fast enough)
George is unlikely to fix this directly though, as its because of how the engine itself works.
The only realistic way to fix this is to move the arena to a "fake system" or something, and not have to rely on the plot-hole & literal-hole inducing energy barriers in the first place.

Interesting this should come up now as it just happened to me on my saved game. I was still in the melee stages of the Arena, finishing cleaning up some of the hopeful amateurs... when I noticed some Commonwealth ships outside the arena wall angrily attempting to penetrate its protection. They seemed to be seeking to strike my Sapphire with several salvos of destructive, death-dealing devices.
"Kack!" I cried, "Curse the Commonwealth!"
Apparently a misguided missile of mine managed to meander through the protective power of the poorly placed pylons and accidentally ambushed a foolish freighter that had found it fun to fly near the force-field. The retribution by the roused retaliators was rather ridiculous. "Enough!" I exclaimed. "The error was exclusively due to the architects of the Arena and their apparent apathetic attitudes!"
I was ineffective at imparting the ineptitude of the inventors. I promptly proceeded to pilot my craft to a drydock for a discussion. My discourse was dismissed and I was rudely removed and rushed to a room where a representative revealed my final fate. I was being persistently persecuted, then prosecuted for piracy.
It wasn't feasable for me to finance the fines, so I was injustly imprisoned instantly. My insurance indeed did infer immunity, but after another attempt to appear at a Commonwealth community, the craziness continued and I was again arrested and arraigned, and injustly incarcerated.
Err... I'm all out of applicable alliteration, so... long story short... I saw this coming so I saved a backup, went in in debug mode, and erased all the evidence of the event, exonerating me from my actions.
