Discussion at work
My supervisor at work who has started playing transcendence most of the day (hooked him up because i work at a relatively new business) because business is slow, and he recently started using some mods. He suggested that i should make a mod similar to the (i think) boarding action mod. and Playership drones as to have a sort of drop ship mode where you can dock with ships, wrecks AND planets. Would this even be feasible? It sure would be one hell of a cool mod.

I don't think there is a function to dynamically add docking ports yet.
With boarding parties, you could have a boarding ship that could invoke the "Boarding party" dockscreen with ScrshowScreen (take a look at sung armor and those armor repair items for examples of what I'm talking about). So you could invoke a boarding screen and then the rest, like combat and all the mechanics, could be made to work in a dockscreen. Good luck. (and ask alterecco what work he's done with Boarding parties when he gets back

this is a bundle request: to push features existing in mods into a bundle pack: like the service pack has bundled goodies for specific actions.
However, the problem here is that the request stretches across mods not simply bundling features to a mod in action.
the docking with planets, drones and boarding parties are separate extensions : different people and credits to others that contributed.
However: I see where this can cut it off at the hydra head: a dockscreen: simple action screen added in to over write abandon screens.
which basically is what boarding parties does :
it does not have to be as technical or complicated as the great minds have forged the path with: they fought down the obstacles to demonstrate it can be done and if it can be done : it can be done simpler....
