Looks like an armed asteriod that took you out. For shame...
I think one of the most stupidious reasons why I got killed was running out of fuel in the middle of a good-sized battle. Thing of it was, I had a mess load of fuel in the hold! I was too busy trying to keep myself alive by fighting off the attackers that I never saw the fuel low warning.
This happened to me too, but I did it intentionally to see if it was possible, though for me it said "You have been destroyed by a in the Cheese-farers system....etc.", missing out the asteroid bit.
I've also been killed by an unprotected Sisters of Domina.
Oh, and GnS - You were killed by an armed asteroid. It's only the stations that have the asteroid 12345 name.
Oh...on the UTF, i finally found out what killed me. Ejecta! Little damned debris that come off wrecks when a WMD is fired.
EDIT: Whayt's worse...I've been killed "accidentally" Once, too. By a centorian in early game. I stood no chance.
I've been killed by friendlies (accidental) a lot of times...Ringers especially, when they are firing at something and hit me instead; but CSC too, and recently by a Taikon Ventures.
