1. upgrading of weapons - you can upgrade weapons to another level with two possible ways.
a)you only upgrade existing one to second existing one (e.q. laser to turbolaser, red strelka to white strelka) - but this is all.
b)each weapon can be uniqely upgraded (each upgrade is defined in wepons data) - and levels of wepons vary from weapon to weapon (e.q basic laser can be upgaded 5 times, and higt-texg e.q. QAC one times, or not) - and upgrades of weapons can vary from improving ROF (rate of fire) to damage, and special effects (like adding little chance to shut-down shield, shield/armour -piercing capacity..etc).
c) booth combined :D
2.more starting ships - locked - you need to complete game to unlock new ships (and one hidden if you complete game with all 3 types), the same for devices.
3. advanced battle arena - in this are are tournament - you can sign in (but only if you are proven warior - win first arena and mayby done another tasks) and you can bet (and look at fight, can be skipped) on winer of competition (of one battle, runer-up..etc) - e.q. from 32 gladiators can be only one champion, one tournament per year (2? hours of real-time) with radio/board messages how much time remaining. you can bet on single fight/runer-up/champion of yours competing gladiators - and most important - you cant die here, you only pay moneys for "resurecting".
Firts prize - good anti iocrym weapon, but bad non-iocrym. Repairing (limit on mey can be spend on repairs) during tournament is limited -and this count for booth you and competition.

4. hull - in curent game if yours armour are gone, then one hit to non-protectd side - game over. And this is bad, it will be nicer if you have "second chance" with hull, and after hull is destroyed, then game over. (and yes, this make sense for armour weapons proposed by me , you can destroy enemy ship, while they have good part of armour).
My English, may be poor, but better than yours Czechs.

Do you chalenge me ? But be nice :-)) http://czert1938.mybrute.com

I like the unlockable thing, but upgrading weapons? Use a ROM. It too complicated. And you will waste money if you up a laser and switch to say, an akan.

I do not like this. It's an artificial means to add "hours of play" to a game. What is the point? Why not just make them available to buy ingame. The player will still have to work to afford them, and best of all, it will make perfect sense.

This is why I don't like racing games. I don't want to drive a Honda for 200 hours before I can get the cool sports car on the box.

I like hulls though.

Ah, yes. Hulls. That's a great idea too.

I like the idea of extra starting ship types that unlock after you win the game. I like it when games give you a real reward for winning the game.

The unlockable ship(s) could be overpowered but fun types--like an Imperial Star Destroyer or a Federation Galaxy Class Starship--that you wouldn't want to have when you first start out (since it would make it too easy), but after winning give you more incentive to play again.

But, maybe an option to unlock them...like a password, which can be discussed here, since those who can't beat the game will feel left out...

You can always unlock them with a mod if you want to cheat. "Winning" via a password (aka a cheat code) would make it too easy for people, I think.

I was thinking, you win and you get a password...

A randomly generated one, so you can't cheat.

I actually wanted it to be a certain password...since if it's randomly generated, then the newbies would feel left out no?

Well...yes. That's the point - so they play the game.

Would you play the game (having not played it before) if the spoils of finishing it are already available? I would, but not nearly so much.

Very well, but is it the same password for every save, or...what? I think randomization is a bit to hard...

I don't want to be a wet diaper, but aren't we getting a bit ahead of ourselves here with this discussion? With all the other plans for Transcendence George has on his plate, what's the chance of "victory rewards" being implemented anytime soon? (Well, maybe if he thinks that it's a REALLY, REALLY good idea... :D )

I was just being this pessimist, trying to detect problems, while yugi is trying to think up answers. A common thing with suggestions
