Black Market stations have unusual credit limits. Unlike other stations, which have a finite balance to buy stuff, the Black Market does not. However, Black Market can never buy items worth more than 100,000 credits. Given how buying limits work, it is best to stockpile as many items as you can and sell them in bulk, twice. (First time, cargo capacity minus one. Second time, full cargo capacity.) It is possible to stock several big ticket items (close to the 100,000 credits per item limit), then sell them in bulk to the Black Market, possibly making close to a million credits in a single transaction. Late in the game, military reactors and weapons are relatively common loot, and the player can either farm and grind enemies for loot for hours and/or fix damaged items with the fabricator to speed things up. All other stations have enough balance to pay for maybe one or two items (then pay less after they get their money back, due to buying limits), but the Black Market can buy as many as you can hold, as long as each individual item is worth less than 100,000 credits.
You may ask why make this much money late in the game? You may get lucky and find a level 10 weapon worth 500,000+ credits at an Outfitters station, or you want a Hyperion from the Commonwealth Fleet, or you want to buy out all of the enhancers and consumables like cubes or shield crystals from every station. It is much easier to build up credits than rin (Teratons and Ringers usually offer terrible prices for your merchandise.)
Should the Black Market have a balance like other stations? If so, maybe 100,000 credits?

I've been asking myself the same question and I think the current limit is way too open for abuse.
However, I'm not even sure the 'max' argument on the trade tag is applied when using a lambda (intBlackMarketBuyPrice) to calculate prices, as the black market stations do. (The issue is on a list of things I need to check before reporting them as a bug).
