Wouldn't it be nice for a change to have a weapon that first has some delay - due to warm up/ build up of particle density, overload, whatnot - before it fires? Sort of a more tactical weapon that's pretty much useless in a hectic fight (unless your really really good OR really really lucky

Also I was thinking - right now aiming is not perfect, there are always angles you can't quite hit with the movement keys.
One solution would be mouse aim.
Another alternative could be to have a control button that automatically aims your ships angle to the location of your target (targeting upgrade required).
This would NOT be an automatic following of your target, just a one-time aiming. Of course if you hit the button all the time, it's the same, but...
Maybe even better if this auto-aiming would only work if your facing the enemy at a certain angle, so you couldn't just get overly lazy and just hit this auto-aim.
Also:
This alien drive ingame that lets you jump in system - reminds my of the Arilou of Star Control. Their fightercraft had a similar feature which left them *teleporting* around randomly upon using this feature. Great for escapes & quite fun actually.
So - where's the original owner(s) of this drive? Would be nice to have some randomly/ anoyingly jumping enemies to shoot for a change.
