So, its implied that it makes some noise, or beams the info directly to your half-asleep mind. But since the latter can't be recreated, why not put an alarm bell or something when the game gives out that "Enemy ships detected" message when you are in autopilot. The Transcendence Home Page wrote:The call of the threat-scanner wakes you out of autopilot.
Enemy ships detected should be accompanied by warning sound
Okies, that's the zillionth time I got badly mauled or blown up when because I was too busy looking at the map to notice those red blips rushing at me. Also the transcendence home page says

YEah. Just say to a microphone: "Enemy ships detected" and add it to the game somehow! Good idea, and it would help beginners. Though in Charon, that will be annoying.

This might be useful in the beginning, but I think later on it the game, that it would be seriously annoying, since you're almost always under attack by someone - you'd have the alarm going off about once every 20 seconds...
Well FAD's right. An option screen would fix things nicely but since there isn't an options screen in Transcendence yet, it may not be entirely possible. Besides, I don't thing it would be THAT annoying. I mean, I don't want the game to play air raid sirens every time enemy ships are detected. A small beep of some sort would suffice. I just want the game to notify me in another way than just a message on the screen.
That's because there aren't really enough options to make an options screen worth it (though it would be useful as more options are added in the next versions) - most of the options we can change are through the F1-12 keys, like sound volume. George could just make F9 or whatever the on/off option.Blitz wrote:An option screen would fix things nicely but since there isn't an options screen in Transcendence yet
Well, I've seen dozens of games in which the options screen doesn't have anything except SFX volume and music volume. I guess one of the funtion keys would work well for now though....Yugimotomanager wrote:That's because there aren't really enough options to make an options screen worth it (though it would be useful as more options are added in the next versions) - most of the options we can change are through the F1-12 keys, like sound volume.
