Do longhuzus enhance reactors (I don't think so)?
If not, can longhuzus be made to do so?
It would be really nice if I could enhace my 500MW reactor to make it 505MW or 510MW. Even If I had to use three longhuzus to get 5MW I would do so. I am not sure if the hyperion reactor can use Pcternium rods and I don't need the capacity nor the power. All I need is 5-10 MW to allow me to run a Tailkon 200 or an Iocrym Veil, an IM90 and still have power to use thrusters, life-support and other necessary ship functions.
Enhancing Reactors with longhuzus: 1%? 0.5?

If you actually read descriptions you can learn a bit. The pteracnium fuel rod description says that it is meant for hyperion reactors.
I really don't see why you would want to sacrifice a sphere for 5MW. You're better off using a bunch of Heliotrope (SP?) rods and hoping for an enhancement. That is, if a 500MW will take said rods. Can't remember.
I do, however, think we need more reactors. Right now, you just progress as soon as you can. What if there were some more lateral changes? Instead of moving from 500MW to the Hyperion, you elect to take the 600MW that's very efficient when it comes to eating fuel. Or, you could go with the cheaper, outdated 750MW that eats through fuel faster than most others.

No it doesn't... well...i don't remember it saying that. I think you mean the hadron vacuum or something...Lord Trogg wrote:If you actually read descriptions you can learn a bit. The pteracnium fuel rod description says that it is meant for hyperion reactors.

The Hyperion is fine with pteracnium. It's requirements are just high enough (minFuelTech="6") to disallow xenotite or Heliotrope fuel (TL5) (so you cant enhance it). This also makes it harder to find refueling stations, since many of the stations max out at xenotite refueling.Pteracnium is a stable transuranic compound of immense energy density. Refined and packaged as fuel rods this compound is ideal for gigawatt-class reactors.
Any reactor less than the Hyperion will accept Heliotrope fuel, and hence can be enhanced.

I love how that's not actually a link, just text colored red.
500MW reactors don't take anything less than xenotite, if I recall correctly. No heliotrope enhancements for them!
