My idea of specialty cargo holds is basically this you can only loot/buy certain types of items. Like you would have to have a military items you would have to buy or get somehow a military hold.
The point is that it would allow for some holds to have alien but not military items, at way you would have to make a choice of having a great shield or a good shield and good weapon. This can even slow down looting by not allowing damaged items for some cargo holds and no loose ammo for others.
Any thoughts?

It's tricky because the cargo hold is so generic.
I have a spectrum of upgrade sizes mod- which alters the extension size. I like it because you can choose you range. I intended the slots used and other factors to be differing, to offer you levels of 'dedication' to choose (how much are you really willing to put out for the extra loot capacity?)
Now, let's vary what holds can carry- that means we need ways to filter the items. But what about realism- you can only put Military items in a hold or you can only put standard ones? What kind of matter did they build those military items out of??!
So, to make it sensible- we need to differentiate cargo from cargo.
And- furthermore- we need to be able to assign cargo space to different cargo.
So- you have room for 100 ton expansion, you are already able to stow 50 tons of anything- how do we say you get a 20 ton radiation shielded[/] section to store radioactive items in? Or perhaps we want to be able to contain some exotic matter or dark matter ammo for a military weapon- we need specialized containment for it as a military style cargo. And you would need to have the containment for the ammo to fire the weapon, of course.
