I wanted to say I love Transcendence. It reminds me of a game I use to play a long time back called SUNDOG.

I was wondering if some of the aspects of that game could be applied to this one. One of the things Id like to see is the ability to visit planets.
Transcendence has such a great feel to it, and the graphics top notch for its style. You really get into it.
I wish I had a list of what weapon systems were and a tech tree.. I don't know whats an improvement and whats not. Are there plans in a future update to have a tech tree, or a way to compare what you have to what your looking at in the shops?
One last thing, if I wanted to donate to the project, how can I do that? I don't see a donate link on the page any where.

Ttech, I believe MuhnayMedia is refering to a cash donation.
MuhnayMedia, this game, for now is totally free, no donations necessary. Ttech, when he said mod, was thinking you wanted to contribute input, not cash. There are a lot of players of this game who develop modifications (mods) for the improvement of the playability of the game. When posted, these are also free.
If you check out these forums, you will find that there are players trying to figure out how to mod a way to visit planets via a docking interface. In fact, if you look long enough, you'll find discussions about all sorts of ideas the players suggest and others respond to.
Me, I'm not a modder. I just enjoy the game and when I visit these forums, I will sometimes reply, especially when I read one that has confusion that I know how to respond, like this one.
Back to the original question I am responding to. I think this is the first time I've actually seen anyone ask about donating to the cause. If George (the game's developer) reads this post, I'm sure he will readily answer this question.

Thanks Icabod458 for clearing that up. I was in fact referring to a cash donation.. not much.. but something to help the cause. I really enjoy the game, and to think its still in the development stages and totally playable is really awesome!
On the mod front, I would love to see some mods that make the game more like Sundog, heck if someone could do a Sundog ship with the xml file that would be really sweet.
I looked at that Transcendence art site and was blown away with the many ships there.. problem is I don't know how to code them to work with the game. I may try to learn some, because there are many ideas swirling in my head.. and if I could contribute that way as well, it would be cool to do so.

modders are easy to find for this game we need more people who can make art and graphics.
Crying is not a proper retort!

hmm ideas. (yes I know these ideas are resource heavy)
Make "inbetween" frames for the ships with only 20 facings so they have 40 facings.
Item art. The items in transcendence are basically all using the same art making individual art things for each one would spice up the game a bit.
Animations. Most things in transcendence just sit there when not moving. It would be cool to have activity going on with stations (like little men working on stations) or having ships animate (like a stealth ship look like it is the star background when moving)
Random ships graphics are always useful. If you want to make a new ship but can't do art you have to use an existing ship and that doesn't look good (plus can be confusing)

Do ships have to be rendered in a 3D program or can they be made in Photoshop? Also do you have to have all those facings?

They can be made with anything you want. People just use the 3d stuff to make it look better (look in the Resources folder in the TranscendenceSource folder for the format)
If you want the ship to turn nicely you want that many facings. You can get away with 20 but the more facings the more ways you can fire.

yep but the more facings the slower it will turn. (you can speed up the rate something will turn but there is a limit on how many facings a sec)
