*** Possible Spoilers!***
When it comes to the Antartica mission, I'll usually state "I won't try to stop you" and let those gate-spawning heavy guns kill it then go back for my prize.
But when I choose "I have my orders" then hit the blasted thing with an EMP then fire an XM300 missile to radiate it, wait for it to die then go back to be praised for the kill and get my prize...I don't get praised!
So, is it because I radiated the CSC that nullifies my getting credit for the kill? Is using an XM300 considered inhumane? If that is the case then that missile needs to be set to illegal, not military as it is now.
At any rate, my missile caused its death and therefore should count as a kill.
On another note; If you choose "I won't try to stop you" and let the other ships kill it, you get the prize. But if you choose "I have my orders" and kill it yourself (and not use an XM300), you get praised as well as the prize.
So is it really worth risking yourself and your ship whenever you can let someone else kill it and still get the prize?
What about adding a nice enhancement to the prize if you kill the CSC yourself, while leaving it stock if you let the other ships kill it? Wouldn't that give it more of an incentive to kill it yourself?
So Not Fair!
Might be more of an incentive, and using a radiation weapon on it to kill it really should count.
But if you want unfair, try playing Nethack. I've went around finding several wands of wishing in the mines, killing cockatrices, even getting silver dragon scale mail before I stupidly forget to put my cockatrice corpse away, and then of course in true Nethack style I fall down the next set of stairs, onto the corpse and turn to stone.
