Starfield and new layers of parallax

For 1.0 (or 1.1) i would like so much to have access to new layers of parallax.

In this why i could make working enhacements for the starfield, like distant nebulae, background effects and so on.

Currently with spaceenviromenttype I can make this:

but the image is on the same parallax plane of the planets, so it doesn't look good when you move.

Funny thing, I'm trying to do the same thing. So if I can't apply a backgroundPlane to a SpaceEnvironmentType, what can I apply it to? I saw that RPC used this in his Planets Parallax but I have found no documentation on it.

One issue: necroed thread.
Two: I was thinking of faking environment type by tessalating graphics. One example would be the sun in the Singulaity mod by Jeoshua.
I don't know how it would look, but a slight overlap and restriction on the parallax range should give a dynamically and uniquely generated nebula.
