Aegaeon; one of the 'hundred handed ones' from greek mythology.

Ender; from the sci-fi novel 'Ender's Game' (Great book btw)

When coming up with new names I sometimes think of a descriptive word and then run it through n online translator into latin, japanese, etc.

ex. Knowledge -> latin => scientia, notitia, gnaritas, eruditio, conscientia, agnitio

The link is http://www.translation-guide.com/free_o ... h&to=Latin

That explains a lot  those are some of my all time favs

Anne McCaffrey, The Ship Who Sang series, great inspirations for ship names, but they tend to be humanized.

oh, man, I could go on & on with great sci-fi series...

Skylark (Skylark of Space, E. E. 'Doc' Smith) one of the 1st scf fi novel series to achieve mainstream popularity, back in 1929!

I'll shut up now :D

Found: http://www.gutenberg.org/author/Edward_Smith
It's worth a read, even if the science of the times was sadly lacking...
