So you have a Katana Star Cannon. Its ion based, right? So you buy an ion power capacitor and figure it'll enhance your ion weapon. You use the ion capacitor and get the message: "The ion power capacitor has no effect." Yay. So now you just blew 5k on something that didn't work and now its gone. Why can't you just get a message that informs you that this device will not work on that device and let you keep the device that didn't work in the mean time? I mean, if I bought a device at radio shack and realized it didn't fit the plug for my device at home, I'd at least try to get a refund instead of junking it.
Last Cause Of Death: Destroyed by Karl Svalbard's last Lucifer missile, right after I blew him up. And the crowd cheers.

I'd keep the bit and use it later. Are we supposed to assume that in the process of attempted application the enhancer is destroyed?Aeonic wrote:So you have a Katana Star Cannon. [schilcote] It doesn't have to be good, it just has to not be "wow is that the only thing you could think of" bad

It always annoyed me too, but I suspended my disbelief, if only ever so barely...schilcote wrote:I'd keep the bit and use it later. It breaks my disbelief more that longzhu spheres don't get destroyed by a failed use. What are you doing, just trying hooking some wires from it to your device and seeing if it makes it go better? Never made much sense to me. It's a pocket sized container of antimatter!
X-ray laser! Pew, pew pew!

I failed to suspend my disbelief.Sponge wrote:I don't know about you guys, but I'm firmly within the "if at first you don't succeed, throw the piece of crap out an airlock" mindset. It's the sensible thing to do.
