1. Military officer discounts (for ranks 6 and up)
-Incentive to gain military rank
-Good for turning a profit late game (not that you can't now..)
I think there needs to be better incentives to gain military rank in the game. I went through so many games without ever doing anything more than the mission to get the military ID. I never ran through Point Juno at all.
2. Alien interdimensional cargo hold (or something like it)
-Uses power (basically would require a gw class reactor)
-Holds a LOT of space (~500 tons?)
*combine this with inertialess and never have ammo issues again
-If it's damaged (ion disruptor), chance of losing stuff
-Chance of losing stuff anyway (power failure 1% chance?)
Not really a crucial item, but seeing as the regular cargo hold does very little for the wolfen and nothing for the freighter, it might be a nice late game addon. I like mule autons, but they just die too easily. Tradeoff would be that it's powered and there's a chance you could randomly lose stuff do to inferior interface (you plugged a phone cable into the quantum parallel port)
3. Antimatter missle
-Viable alternative to defeating the Iocrym
-Huge power requirement (500 w?)
-Heavy ammo (2 tons per missle?)
*combine with the dim. cargo hold above

I know this one's brought up a lot. "We don't need any more super weapons". I only ask for a bit more variety in defeating the Iocrym. I know it's not meant to be a standoff battle, but if I have to circle the thing for a good chunk of an hour to beat the game, I'll pass. I think the idea of making the ship more deadly and less indestructible is still the best though.
4. Neutral fleets (yellow instead of red or green)
-Can be "recruited" by any order (mercenary?)
-Only care about their own interests
This kind of already exists with certain ships that could care less if you're commonwealth or pirate. eg. Salvager nomads, armored transport ships, Xenophobes to a lesser extent (they're hostile to everyone). The dwarg are kind of like this too in that you can "recruit" them to your cause, but maybe there can be more diplomatic ways of gaining fleet support in the great war.
5. Loans
-Simple interest
-Payed off over time (every half hour of play or so)
-If not payed, loan office comes to "repo" you. (corporate cruiser?)
This would be nice early game where instead of running around and saving up money, you can buy up front and pay later with loot that you gain. Of course, if you can't get enough loot to pay, you have consequences. This would be more realistic for changing ships when that feature is implemented. Rarely ever would you buy a car (ship) up front with cash, so taking out a loan for it seems reasonable. The interest would make it less profitable than saving up the money, but you'd get immediate results.
Okay, so I lied, it wasn't that quick. If any of these ideas are possible repeats, I apologize. I tried to search for all the ideas being pitched out, but mainly all these were spur of the moment.
