Wouldn't it be useful if a strafing function were implemented?
Like, instead of having to always go forward to move, you could just thrust from either side of the ship, but you could also thrust forward to go in circles like the Hornet Battle Pods tend to do.
This would be particularly useful on battleships, but it wouldn't serve much purpose on freighters and regular craft.

But a device which would let you strafe would be cool. Although, it'd need to be balanced... I don't know if it's possible to create such a device though..
EDIT: guess it's not possible to do with the current tools - it's possible only when invoking or firing. Thanks to Betel for that piece of information.

Sure it is, you'd just have to make 3 possible directions to thrust in; port, starboard, and forward. I guess it could be implemented through a ROM, like the targeting program, but if the hardware is already there, it should be ready to use on small fighters.Blitz wrote:But a device which would let you strafe would be cool.
