In the mid-late game (I'm noticing this just before Pt. Juno)....some VERY valuable friendlies are highly vulnerable. So far I've seen Trading posts and Makayev stations go down to enemies....and while the trading post I can remember WAS due to me using it as a shield, the Makayev was collateral damage by a deimos, and then got finished off by 4 luminous drones..which it COULD NOT KILL with it's lone Mk.5 Howitzer (the few guards were useless and got destroyed in the blast of the dying station)
Now, these stations can't be TOO powerful..but they represent a highly significant asset to the corporations involved. To have the huge amount of goods in these buildings....and have Ronin/As (in the case of the trading posts) and a few Med-IAVs (the Makayev plant) guarding them is both not that likely, and extremely exploitable. Especially Makayevs, as they don't appear to spawn corporate cruisers (if that's a bug or not, I do not know).
So....maybe some Centurion/Xs, or even corporate cruisers guarding these REALLY important stations might be needed? Possibly even britannias.....
Suggestion: Buff station guards/defenses
Or better yet, just give the stations themselves a big gun... Or make it so that when you blow up a station EVERYONE gets mad at you.
[schilcote] It doesn't have to be good, it just has to not be "wow is that the only thing you could think of" bad
And how is that going to prevent the Ares or Luminous from blowing up all the stations?schilcote wrote:Or better yet, just give the stations themselves a big gun... Or make it so that when you blow up a station EVERYONE gets mad at you.
Exactly. The Makayev has a flipping Mk.5. it did utterly diddley-squat for it.Atarlost wrote:And how is that going to prevent the Ares or Luminous from blowing up all the stations?schilcote wrote:Or better yet, just give the stations themselves a big gun... For some reason, the makayev station seems to be ridiculously fragile... I killed it with a level I or II kinetic weapon before...

Giving it armor made from tissue paper and flowers is pretty...uh.....illogical. It looks like the Dark Tower of icy DOOOM!..especially when that Mk.5 starts up...and then it explodes.

Granted, it took a few minutes...Shrike wrote:LolWUT?Wolfy wrote:For some reason, the makayev station seems to be ridiculously fragile... I killed it with a level I or II kinetic weapon before...

Still. In a few minutes, a station should be able to pick off something.Wolfy wrote:Granted, it took a few minutes...Shrike wrote:LolWUT?Wolfy wrote:For some reason, the makayev station seems to be ridiculously fragile... I killed it with a level I or II kinetic weapon before...
