I figured I'd help the BM station in Rigel Aurelius meet its destiny a bit early and blew it up immediately after buying a smuggler's cargo hold (and before doing any arena missions.)
When I got second place in the arena, the rescue mission started up, and Kate immediately said "Thanks, clear the area, etc. etc."
I then checked to see what would happen if I just went back to the arena and tried to start the last fight with her still docked at the BM station and I got the message "Are you on your way? Get to the Black Market station and clear out those defenders!"
Maybe if the station is destroyed first, the rescue scenario should just not be played out? I think only experienced players are ever going to end up killing a black market station before completing the arena.
Also, it might be good for Kate to say "Thanks for the help. We've got Katami and are headed back. Then make the player wait for a while (like corp trading station orders) for Katami to return and start the fight.
