I mean, at least the centauri recoiless is ammoless and can actually kill stuff above its level.
The Gaian cannon cannot:
Kill the ICS, unlike any other level VIII or IX (there is one X that cannot kill the ICS in practice, but at least it mathematically has a chance of doing so)
Down the shields on a phobos (arguably an even sadder feat of failure, as even certain weapons you can see in eridani can take out the kaidun... yet the demo cannon... cannot.)
to add insult to injury... it takes two slots AND uses the most power of any human weapon, tying with the APA (ares plasma archcannon), which at least does more damage, is ammoless, and... can actually kill stuff, even if being rather ineffective about it. [And saying the APA beats it sure is something coming from me, since everyone knows how much I find the APA is too weak]

And I would just farm the cannons to farm a few extra phoboses. Because I try to get the most ridiculously high scores just for kicks. Everyone else just wants to win.

Doubling charges still would not be enough; it's a weapon that can never be refilled that uses huge amounts of power like a re-fillable weapon. The power use at the very least must go, followed by more charged & a massive damage buff (more than 2x, as d1gdug did)

It should a have a unique reload mechanism, like when the weapon destroys a wreck, it sucks in the debris and recharges X shots or have it recharge shots slowly over time or both.
