heh!
Heliotrope colour definition is coming from the Heliotropium flowers.
I think that George wanted instead to follow the etymological definition of Heliotrope:
the name "heliotrope" derives from Ἥλιος (helios) is Greek for "sun", τρὀπειν (tropein) means "to turn", in fact Heliotropium plants turn during the day to follow the sunrays.
That explains why George adopted the name: Heliotropes are only/mainly using the sun and solar panels for energy.

I want their solar energy > fuel cell converter! It could be a deployable that you could leave on the sun for a while and come back for bounty

Nice idea Star Weaver! Like a disposable version of the Solar Power add-on.Star Weaver wrote:I want their solar energy > fuel cell converter! It could be a deployable that you could leave on the sun for a while and come back for bounty
And:
I think that's more likely, knowing how crazy George is about space and astrology (crazy in a good way, thoughI think that George wanted instead to follow the etymological definition of Heliotrope:

Something like Star Weaver's idea: You could have batteries that you jettison on a sun to charge up, and then when it's done (a little meter at the bottom of the screen) you pick it up and it drains into your reactor (refueling you)
I really don't care if I get my hair cut... *snip* NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!
