Full support of positional slots

Location: At the VSS Shipyards in the frontier, designing new ships.

Device slots need to become fully positional and individual, allowing for the use of offset weapons fire and ICX-type device fire from a playership, or any ship where the weapon was installed via script, etc.

I've got a number of ideas that require this for TSB (the ships would look very strange, and are actually somewhat underpowered due to their shape without positional slot support.)

Humm... I think it would me mighty interesting to be like the larger ships - having a primary and secondary weapon that fires at targets, multiple hull (more then 4) and having multiple shields and missile launchers. Just a thought.

I like to see the missile launcher slot morph into a secondary weapon slot usable by any weapon, not just missile launchers only.

Indeed, that would be very useful in certain games, use the missile key to luach / fire a weapon instead. e..g lighters.

Hmm. So long as launchers become "forced secondary" weapons, that would work rather well.

Though I was planning on doing it via script, support for designated tertiary slots which auto-alpha strike (unless manually disabled) would be nice.
