So, I was looking at Settings.xml the other day, for Trans 1.04 and found at the bottom of the XML, this:

Code: Select all

	<Services>
		<Xelerus enabled="false"/>
	</Services>

What does that do? I see no difference if it is true or false?

Will Trans eventually integrate with Xelerus?

I also see it in my 1.03 folder. Curious. Speculations abound.

It is related to posting stats directly to xelerus... I am not sure if it was ever completed though... We should have Bimbel or George answer this one.

Oops. I probably shouldn't have left that setting in there.

The setting does automatically post stats to Xelerus and it does work (or did when I first implemented it). But I don't want to overload Bimbel's server, so I didn't want to publicize it.

Yeah, I discovered it the other day, too, while looking at the settings (which someone on the IRC so graciously pointed out were there). I'd say, it's okay to leave it in there, but turned off. I won't be using it unless I get into some serious gaming session with Transcendence, but I could see some people wanting to compare scores.

It posts stats to the stats sites, currently my site and Xelerus post - when George published he didn't add my site to the list yet. But basically it was a project where stats are processed and grahed.
I'm finishing the touches on my final system which adds a lot more goodness to the mix.
