I'm posting this in Suggestions, because it isn't really a bug, per se but rather what I feel is a flaw in the lists that Transcendence generates.
Items don't seem to be placed logically in the ruins of stations. For instance, in my last playthrough, in the Eridani system I blew up a Charon Pirate Outpost and found...Dwarg Chiton Armour in there. Now, Dwargs don't appear for another 9 or so systems, and also, it makes no sense for pirates to have Dwarg armour. Yes, Light Titanium Armour, because they would use that to fit out their ships, but not Dwarg armour. Same goes for Akan 30 cannon shells -- why would the Station stock that, when their Corsair fighters use lasers?
I can only assume this comes about from the lists that Transcendence has from which items are chosen to be spawned on a station. Ships don't have this problems as much, but it is really noticeable on Stations. It is of course, not reproducable, because it is all random, but when it occurs, it always strikes me as odd.

It is possible, but would require adding many attributes to items, and/or creating many item tables and specifying which station uses which table.
IT's a lot of work simply for realism/logic, but maybe someone will get the itch...

Just think of it as...
They're pirates, so the loot that are in their stations and or ships were just looted from other ships that they destroyed.
I got a Neuros Portable player from an ares ship, along with a microsaur(TM).
So aliens like human technology too...
Interesting.

I'll be observing from afar.

technically they're not aliens. They're humans who went to mars, got defeated in a war, so fled and started another war.

Really, it isn't much, but it does bemuse be occaisionally. That said, I'm sure I'm speaking for everyone when I say I'd much rather George went ahead with part 2 and some cool new features rather than waste time fixing up little quirks.

It would be a rather simple if lengthy process to fix it with a mod; just overwrite the station tables and stations.

I can see them having the akan shells, but the dwarg armor is a bit more silly. Who would transport dwarg armor around? Nobody even sells the stuff.

...There is a market in the pirate circles for rare Dwarg armour? And they are really softies and like to have Microsaur pets?blizgerg wrote:I really like how its random and sometimes does strange things. I also agree that it is important to game play. I think it's fun, you could consider trying to come up with a story of how that odd item ended up on said station...

Just because you find something once on a station doesn't mean they all like it, it could have been that some random pirate who had a pet or something. Having things homogeneous is BORING! By having some random stuff appearing it makes it seem like the stations have different kinds of inhabitants. Maybe the Microsaur is the pet of the children of the pirates living on the station. The Dwarg armor is there because a few years back the pirates had an epic battle with a Dwarg convoy and they haven't managed to sell it off yet.ThePrivateer wrote: ...There is a market in the pirate circles for rare Dwarg armour? On the other hand, I must admit its fun imagining where the Ranx got a lazarus
