I think that certain ships should get "sister" models of higher power.
they would have similar design to their "little sister" and be in service to the same faction.
for instance, I think a large ship called "Asp" with relative power that of a Corp. cruiser, should be introduced. it would be the "sister" to the Manticore, and serve Makayev.
also, I think there should be a sister to the Molotok. my idea for a name, is "Kuklinski-Mercenary".and it carries qaud slam cannons and a MAG launcher.
a sister to the aquila should be the "Draco" which carries a plasma cannon and NAMI heavy launcher.
(it always puzzled me why the plasma cannon is "used exclusively by the capitol ships..." and yet there is not a one that uses it.)
Why doesn't Rasiermesser have their own model of Ship?
Why can't you join Makayev or Rasiermesser? I have ideas on these subjects...

that is actually on the menu in a way : I observe that the Mod Makers have this Bend to the ships that are going in that direction : the latest Mod : Black Market1.4 (http://xelerus.de/index.php?s=mod&id=905 ) is virtually giving the BM it's own fleet of Defenders : the Player Drones Mod ( http://xelerus.de/index.php?s=mod&id=863 ) has a set of ships separate from the other stations available at the BM and others in other stations that fit the station / faction type.
Several ideas are pushing toward making Hostile versions of some ships ( like my Antaresv6 hostile Freighter) and a call for stronger starting ships: but if the ships get stronger: the universe must react by pushing out stronger Hostiles and Hostile versions of known ships : like the Stalwart, there is also a Hostile version that runs around in the game if you use that ship in your extensions.
And this is the only way to truely balance things out: By making the Universe Fuller and making sure it responds to the Player Input by generating /retaliating .
We all want details, we want better weapons from the Fleet: but they are hard pressed for Credits and depend on the Corporation for financial support ( this is why you can Donate medical Supplies to the Fleet, which is better then selling to them because you get a looted relic of some kind that is more valuable to your ship or in later trade)
We all want stronger ships from the Corporation Ship Yards : but the corporation is concerned with population growth, finances and the need to make Credits by selling ships......there is no real Profit in giving us better options.
Sooo: Mods of ships are made....but to Balance those slightly stronger ships you NEED to build a stronger Hostile force to keep the Urgency and Adventure going : that is What DySy does: gives the Player a return on the Investment ( but Lumen is really too hostile for a new player, the Ranx hit way too hard for weak ships and have even managed to take out my Corporate Shields ( I made it for my test ship ). So if Lumen can kill my test ship : a new player has a small chance in the stock 3. but IF the game were to network and Progress to that point of Hostility.... ( as it does in a regular game that carries the folder with DySy files , but not actually playing the DySy Mode)...THEN , yes, the new player has a chance
So I do not think we will be retiring at 65 before there are Fleets for each faction that the Player can obtain or at least see in the game.

this is actually the description off the files : I do not think I ever met this and thought it valuable enough to remember : the only item I know with that basic description is the Ares Arch-Cannon which I enjoy using on the lairs of those critters that want to destroy my ship.

Huh. I always thought the desc. for the plasma cannon was something about Cap. ships. I must have faulty memory, or be confusing it with the NAMI heavy launcher. (greatest launcher ever, btw; gotta love all those Nemeses)

I once made a recolored & personalized version of a Sapphire ship, it's even called "Sapphire - Hatsuya Kanzaki custom", it has blue and yellow color in it. But I took it down for the time being.

However: that is just me, I see there is a great deal of attention to colorings of ships and my only real "issue" with most of the ships I have seen is not the color: I would enjoy seeing them doing the trade routes in a game or as a Hostile : but it is the DESIGN of the ship :
like the Agauptera : looks like it was built in a Luxury Lab of a safe empty system, not a Dry Dock in a system that has Pirates and Ares looking to add you to the dinner menu.
So in my opinion, holding onto the Universe State of the game is just as important in Design of a ship as the ship's abilities : The Agauptera has the right abilities for the time period i think but the design of it not rough enough ( for my opinion ) : it really needs a back story of it's source : and if YOU have a ship to add: Not only would I download it and want it in my game , at least in a trade route to improve the scenery ( I fly the Corporate Transport ( a weaker version of the Cruiser ) or the Dragon Slaver that is why I would not simply jump into another ship )
