St.K's - a suggestion -

Welp. I am of the belief that St.K's is entirely overrated. I have a long list of complaints, actually. I'll list some.

1- It's the Capitol of the known Commonwealth, yet the biggest weapon I've seen there is a level 6.

2- once again, since it's the capitol, and therefore Huge, why is there like only a dozen things you can do there? just the Nightclub, Dockservices, Parliment/Militia, Trading, and Engineering College.

3- Again, since it's the center of the known universe, don't you think it should have heavier defenses then it does?

4- Center of universe, lacks any sidequests of any kind. Why?

5- Why doesn't it ever get assaulted by enemies?

6- Why don't they have their own Battle arena? (remember my Gladiators extended post....?)

7- Why is there no BM?

8- Why is there like 1-3 Domina Convents There? Don't they originate from St.K's? Why Isn't there a huge Domina Fortress?

9- Why doesn't the Antarctica appear in St.K's after you Rescue it?

10- Why for the love of Sid do the BM only send you on missions to St.K's?!
Now you know my gripes, I'll list some methods of improving the situation.

1- Just raise tech level to 8.(Pretty simple.. )

2- Make each segment have it's own purpose,(one for parliment, one for nightclub, one for Militia, Etc.)instead of one conglomerated segment-circle.

3- Add outer Aquila Patrols, Militia Stations, (Maybe a CSC?) and make the Arcology armed with like a dozen Fusionfires and a shield Generator for each segment.

4- One Sidequest I can think of is the Osaka. Like Talk to a Student at the Engineering School named, say, "Michelle" she offers you the Osaka for around 15,000 credits, and it comes armed with random level 4 equip in varying states of repair and enhancement.

5- Make it get assaulted by Ares or Sung or something.

6- add arena?

7- add BM?

8- make a massive Domina Convent armed with Judgment archacannons firing darklighning blasts.

9- add Antarctica.

10- add any other mission to the BM Aside from the St.K's one.

Location: Hmm... I'm confused. Anybody have a starmap to the Core?

Some of your suggestions are being implemented in mods (specifically 1,3&9)... It's just that they haven't been released yet, like TSB (Wolfy's Total Conversion) and Sdw's TC. Don't worry, they will come in time!
2. What else do you think we should be able to do? Learning in St. Kat's University is a start. Also, making each segment would require a different station UNID, but is totally doable.
3. TSB is beefing up St Kats IIRC.
4. A sidequest I can think of right now is being an ambassador to the Huari/Sung/Dwarg, but those haven't been implemented yet because of the amount of coding to be done (it's much easier to add weapons and playerships, which is why there are so much of them on Xelerus)
5.I'm thinking St Kats is being infiltrated based on the fact that some enemy stations hide out in the asteroids, although I don't know how stations could be established if both gates are flanked by CW ships...
6. A St. Kat's battle arena would be nice.
7. Maybe there's a secret dockscreen in one of the Arcologies? It would be a great mod to somehow access a BM inside an arcology by using a secret code, similar to the one used to keep the Europa vault locked.
8. a Domina fortress does not fit the theme of the Sisters all that well.
9. Sdw is doing that for his TC.
10. All that has to be done is for someone to make a mod... Maybe giantcabbage's missionframework could be used here. Prophet started a thread on the Temporary Transcendence Forums about new BM missions, like assassination. I'll find the link to the theread when I get home.

few things,

1 it is hard (well its not exactly /hard/ it just takes a lot of time and work to add it and from what i know george is working on stuff for 1.06 and part II atm :D ) this answers 2 3 4 5 and possibly 9 and 10

2 RE: 1 if for some reason the player got enough credits to get a lvl 9 weapon where all enemies are at lvl 5-7 it would make the game to easy

3 Re: 7 err why would the commonwealth want a BM in their capitol, if one was established they would just blow it up,

4 Re: 6 Why would the Corporates want two battle arenas that would be competing for spectators and also would get less money from them because of the extra people they have to pay

5 Re: 5 there are so many stations around the gates that any external threat would have to deal to them first giving the Arcology more time to respond to them

Also later SK will have another gate that leads to the Earth Branch. Sol System and such. While I agree that we could use some more power in the capitol the current does not seem to bad.

::: Its the center of the commonwealth really - but even then, it does have heavy defenses in TSB (it makes much more sense here though as there is a massive blockaded Ares force one gate away.

::: It currently has the militia stuff. St.k's importance is being downplayed in TSB actually given that there are many more 'major' powers now, not just CW vs. Ares - even then with the overall expanded optional mission system in TSB, there should be plenty to do

::: In TSB it has other highly-commonwealth systems on all but one sides, which is a gate that leads to commonwealth fortifications and blockade of an Ares system.

::: There will be one past the outer ring in TSB, past the 'junkyards' (waste dumping regions)

Wolfy I smell a shamless plug for TSB there. ;) But true enough those points would fix that but would they be in pure?

I smell it too.......but I long stopped shopping in that system: unless my ship needs something or I am looking for an item : I just gate through and take my credits with me.

You should never go through St. K's taking your credits with you. You should stop in St. K's a while and breed those credits. You can often net several kilocreds selling stuff like LoX and hydrogen gas from fuel stations to factories and stuff from factories to corporate enclaves, restaurants, and sometimes ice farms.

And the factory routes are mostly high value/low mass items you can trade effectively even in a stock Wolfen

@Wolfy: So TSB pretty much fixes everything, Don't it? Welp, Great Minds Think Alike. :D

So, as for Complaint #8, I had no Idea that The Dominum Cult originated in Sanctuary.But I still think a massive fortress should be added (the Fortress simply being an enormous Convent with Heavier armor and a large Judgment Archcannon.(For peacekeeping Purposes, Of course.)It could be in Sanctuary, I guess.)

@Ttech: Random thought: The Citizens of Earth should Have their Own Fleet/Technology, Apart from the CW. The Sol Branch from St.K's would allow Contact with such a fleet, Correct?

I also remember the sanctuary sun is green. We had a long debate (and random, pointless guessing) on how it is green. (because stars aren't green naturally.

The problem with St. Kats is Human Ego. It is the Capital of the Commonwealth and should be the awesomest coolest place ever. The Capitol of California is Sacramento it is a dump so is San Fran but you cannot tell the people from there that it would injure there illusions.
Yes we want to believe we are the center of the Universe but I am fairly certain the Iocrym, Ares and Xenophobe would debate that violently(they do).
