Maneuvering thrusters

I know maneuvering thrusters has been suggested billions of times, but how come they've never been implemented? I've posted some working maneuvering drives that act like normal drives but also increases your ability to maneuver (turn).

EDIT: George, are you going to implement something similar to lateral thrusters in a newer version of Transcendence?

Yeah, some future version of Transcendence will have lateral thrusters (at least as an optional device upgrade) But it's not high on my priority list (high on my list is adding more stuff to the last part of the game).
