I would like to suggest the idea of being able to intimidate or extort stations and ships or something like that. So, like I could go up and try to demand a station give me something and if not I will destroy it. They might say no, and if I do destroy it and then destroy all the revenge spawns other stations should be more likely to come around to my demands.
This thought mainly came about when I was dealing with some factions and wanting to extract revenge...
Have biggest guns but why don't I have any respect?

this would be a "take" on the commonwealth bribe Mod : I would look up the Mod and present the idea directly to the Mod maker : together I am sure you could produce an interesting featureblizgerg wrote:I would like to suggest the idea of being able to intimidate or extort stations and ships or something like that. Sounds like a nice idea for Dynamic Systems and Sandbox, but I'm wondering code-wise how it would work. If the player has to dock (so as to use the new dockscreen funcs!) then it makes no sense for the player to threaten the stationmaster at the dock, but to communicate with a station before docking requires a bit more thought in terms of code.

thanks to the DySy radio operator I was able to make radio chatter once ( annoying so much I was glad i killed it ) however for stations to call the player ship with clearance to dock is not that difficult : just range the player to say; 20 and unleash the annoying radio chatter.RPC wrote:Sounds like a nice idea for Dynamic Systems and Sandbox, but I'm wondering code-wise how it would work. However: responding....you would require text input or option selection : dock screens would work for that but : a virtual station " radio " ( dockscreen ) called by an onboard item box : this box transmits to :STAN:20 a message that the stations roll dice in response : 50/40 for taking the bait or unleashing a squadron of ships 10 for calling out the Corporate Cruiser to take you off the map.

Instead of text box stuff, why not a radio device virtual slot that lets you select an option to broadcast, and then a list of options to select, that result in predetermined messages being broadcast when a station sends out a broadcast request?
