While I'm not too picky about graphics, I do think it's odd that the Ventari destroyer doesn't come close to reflecting how much tougher and more dangerous it is than anything else you're likely to encounter around the same level. I guess it's kind of ugly, too, mostly because of the color.

The Ventari is an (dis)honorable mention. It looks like a blocky anvil, and it is small for a destroyer/cruiser. It is the smallest ship with two linked-fire weapons with firing arcs, plus a primary omnidirectional weapon. It should be bigger and/or longer.

If the Mikeno makes a comeback, it should look better than it does.

The Viking-class and Drake class could stand to be scarier looking. Most groups of faction ships have similar-looking aesthetics but Corsairs and Frigates look very different from Vikings, Drakes, Barbaries, raid platforms and the other one .

That said, the Tenhove-class sentinel is also an eyesore. Now that we have things like overlays, the mostly non-rotating sprite should be put to bed. The autons could stand to be pepped up now that we have a ship that features them. The Heliotrope gunship is another ugly ship.

I like the Himal interceptor! It could be a little bigger, though.

Ha ha, going through the graphics resources I noticed that at some point the International Space Station got added to the station graphics ;)

That's a little easter egg. It doesn't show up anywhere in the game, but it maybe it should at some point. FYI: The ISS follows the same exponential scale as ships in the game.

Probably the issue with the ventari ship is that due to being 'zoomed far out' the texture looks like a single monolithic material which in turn leads to a form with no real breakup in its design beyond the visible modeled geometry

This is true of almost all of the textures in the game.

I'd blame the dark color making the modeled geometry less visible, not the zooming.

I agree that the mule could use a refit. It should look more like a storage container rather than a flat-bed trailer.

And George, you are planning on keeping the old ship images in the game for modding purposes, right? :P

Don't mind if you Upgrade the image but I would miss them  (e.g Centauries Command Ship).... but also re-do/update the the older ones or the one replaced as well with an updated facings mask  . Hence The older/replaced images should be kept... keep it as an open resource image for anyone willing to re-use/adopt it.... also as a quirk or nostalgia replace Arco Van Heavy raider with the Centauries Command Ship instead -just a thought.
