images of face for heroes/stations

IMO it will be very nice if you can select own face in starting of game (add more personalized feeling) and nice to see face of yours companions (I always curious how Rama look) wiht thiers responds. e.q when you say in wingman orders Fire at will, Rama respod e.q Finaly, I want this for long time. (and not only obey).
And similiar it will work for communication with stations (if implemented) (e.q. sorry for friendly fire, I need backup, I overhelmed by enemy...).
My English, may be poor, but better than yours Czechs.

That'd be nice. So you want a face icon pop up whenever somebody sends a message of some sort. Maybe add an audio version. And Rama would probably look like a south asian. Or more precisely like an Indian as it is a Hindu name and Hinduism is most prevalent in India.... I live in India - so I ought to know.... For some reason all these recent ideas are reminding me more and more of Freelancer..... Hot that its bad. Freelancer is like a 3D version of Transcendence.

I'm not so sure I like this idea so much. Transcendence is graphically spartan, depending to a large extent on text to tell its story, much like its inspiration Nethack. So maybe Evilbob imagines the characters he interacts with the be furries, and I see them as radically altered humans- with the current setup we can both be satisfied. If the game presented a character portrait, at least one of us would disappointed.

Anyway, in my games Rama is usually choking on vacuum within thirty seconds- kid just won't stay out of the way of my Tev-9s.

Hmmm... so you are saying the game would lose its unique touch if you are not allowed to do the imagination yourself. I never thought about it that way but I think retroactive is right. That's why people (including myself) still play games like ADOM even when there are much cooler looking games out there. Maybe you could make Rama's ship look unique (with a red stripe running down the middle or something) and have the ship portrait pop up whenever he speaks. But you should be allowed to choose your own portrait. make it so that you can put the image of your choice in the Transcendence folder and choose it.
