As I landed onto one of the docking bays of CSC Antartica, the captain waves at me from the bridge. I asked my wingmen, Jenna, Rama, and Volkov to wait for me, I needed this job, and as always, they agreed.
We're all alone in this vast universe right now. Jenna seeks adventure, fully aware of the fact that her family's waiting for her back at New Victoria. With every stargate the four of us enters, her hands shake while tears slowly roll down into her soft, pale cheeks. Rama on the other hand has no family to begin with. The only reason he still cruises into the dark abyss of what others would call 'outer space' is because of his destiny, which was to die as he journeys to the core. He was hesitant to join me at first, afraid that his life might end without anyone even remembering his name, yet he stood up and proudly said, "To hell with destiny, I will join you!". Volkov begs to differ with the two. Jenna has a family, Volkov also, though he's more of in the side of Rama by now. The only family that Volkov could call, which was being in the loving care of his wife, now shattered after hearing the news of her death. Volkov now joins me, though not directly telling me the reason that it was to search for his wife's remains, in my journey to the core.
And here I am, leaving my family, knowing that it was the right choice to begin with. My wife and daughter crying as I left them, only to follow Domina's words, which urges me to pursue my destiny and travel into the core.
The core... Is there even such a place?
Amidst my daydreaming the captain of CSC Antartica calls my attention as he frantically waves his two arms infront of me. I guess I should attend to amuse him immediately.
We gave each other a sign of salutations and shaked our hands, though this is the first time we've actually met. He felt relief as he tapped my shoulder, and told me,
"Ahhh... It's good to see you. This war has been tough on the troops. It's sad to admit but we've had to start scavenging for vital supplies. I'm not surprised that the discipline in some units has deteriorated."
He turned his back onto me, and viewed the soul-crushing scenery of military troops fighting for food rations, water supplies, and even spaces for privacy.
"Yes... They've started to become immoral ever since the two nearby stations were destroyed by the Ares fleet."
"I'm not surprised." was my reply.
"You know, we could use a helping hand in here."
"What do you want me to do?"
He turned around and pointed at a cargo door labeled "5577".
"Inside that door are emergency supplies for the Commonwealth Station number 5577. You are to be assigned to deliver as many food supplies as you can to them. I pass onto you the lives of the people that lives in that station. Are you willing to take the risk, the responsibility, and the fate of those people in need of those supplies?"
"Why don't you take a portion of the food and give them to your men? They look like they're willing to do anything as long as they can have a steady supply of food." I asked.
He turned around, rushed towards me, and gripped my collar with his face just inches away from mine. And as the tension increases around us, he whispered,
"You don't understand do you? Look around you! LOOK AROUND YOU!" He pulled me near into the Bridge's window, forcibly making me look out from it.
"Do you see the tragedy that this war has made to my troops? Look at it! Trying to kill each other with spoons and food trays, just to have some food. Some of them haven't eaten in days, others haven't slept, some are even dying off from diseases, mainly cancer."
I struggled to be free from his grasp, and there I realized that there's a big difference from being a fleet captain and just being an appointed captain. I might be strong behind the wings, and might even be ten times better than the man currently pinning me against the window, but I know I'll never be this physically strong, no matter how many lightyears I travel. I gave up the resistance, and said to him,
"The more reason to give them what they want."
He pinned me harder into the window, and whispered to me,
"You don't really understand do you? They'll kill anyone just to get out of this wretched space station for their own survival. I've had a handful of men that have left this station already. Some find refuge from different races, others left for their homes, while others live their lives as bandits, rogues, pirates, or whatever. No one's to be trusted here anymore except for me. So, I will ask you one last time, will you take the mission or not?"
I was forced to say, "Yes."
He smiled.
"Very well, I'll open the cargo hatch for you, and we'll fill your ship with as much cargo as it can, though we need to empty it out first. Don't worry, we'll return your items once you're done with the mission... If you will return, that is."
At first I was hesitant when they said that they will return all of my items, but I trust their captain, or better yet, fear him. So eventhough I was afraid to lose them, I accepted the mission.
I flew straight to Commonwealth Station Number 5577, encountering a few Ares ships here and there, and hurriedly gave them their supplies after I've docked onto the station. One man told me that they were just that desperate for food that they asked the military for emergency rations. I did not want to stay longer and returned back to CSC Antartica, just to see if my items were still there. Thank Domina they were still in good condition when I returned. I flew off and returned to the side of my wingmen while the Captain of the station waves at me with a big smile in his face. I wondered why he was so happy so I decided to check my supplies. Everything is there... Everything except for...
Except for... What could it be? It feels as if all my items were returned to me, though it also feels as if it's not...
And there I realized I was saving 350 boxes of unlicensed cancer dust for future use. All of it, gone, consumed by the deceitful military captain of CSC Antartica and his troops. And as I turned my head to give them another look, they were all there, waving at me like I'm a fool to trust them.
Being too full of items from looting those darn Ares pirates, I decided to sell them first, and complain afterwards to the Captain of CSC Antartica. I was so enraged as to how they treated me after all the help I gave them. After I was done selling some loots, I returned and to my surprise, they returned more of my items, still, in my mind they have already fed upon my cancer dusts and this is just an excuse to cover up for it. I asked the cargo movers as to where their captain is at, he said he does not know, possibly feeding out his troops. Feeding them what? Cancer dusts? Screw him! What kind of excuse was that? I left the station with my hands clenched tightly onto the steering wheel of my ship, too angry to bother looking for the captain.
Again, the troops of CSC Antartica waved at me, taking me for a fool. Maybe they think that I'm not aware of them stealing my supplies, but no, I am, and soon enough I would give them my just revenge, this wretched station would fall into the pits of the unknown.
But really now, I am a fool. The cancer dust were there at my cargo hold, hidden behind my two autodocs, under those 55 crates of medical supplies. And I thought they disappeared and were used by the military... Turns out I really need to trust the most deceiving humans, even at their most desperate situation sometimes.
tl;dr
I did a mission with CSC Antartica, it was where they cleared my cargo hold so that I can deliver as much food as possible to Commonwealth Station 5577. When I returned, I have a few items in my inventory(loots from kills and the two destroyed friendly stations), and they gave me my items. Weird part is that my cancer dusts(and maybe a few more items) were not there. It's quite sad too see because I have already auto saved for travelling back in one system to sell loots. So I docked back into the station, and typed this little rant, when I realized that they returned all my cancer dust(and possibly other items) after docking to them again.
I demand a prompt where they would say, "We're sorry but some of your items would need to stay with us first, you don't have enough cargo space." when you have too much items in your inventory when they give you back your items.
The Military and it's Corruption.

Aside from the unliscensed cancer dust, which is illegal (unless george added liscenced cancer dust, which would be a legal commodity), I could understand them withholding that, but as a result of not having enough cargo space...
Also, I suspect that it was the CSC Arctica

What does the official patch mod do? The only problem I have is that I did a mission where they took all my items, and they only gave me some after I finished it because I got no more cargo hold. Then when I got more cargo hold(because of selling some loots, like ore, which is heavy), they gave me the remaining items that I haven't claimed yet.alterecco wrote:Seems like another candidate for the bug tracker. Do you have an account? It also seems like a candidate for the official patch mod.
The problem is that they didn't notify me that I have some items left with them because I don't have enough cargo hold and that I can get it back afterwards. In fear I thought they confiscated the cancer dusts(because it's illegal).
and @Wolfy,
nah, they're honest enough to return it to me, it's just that I feared that if ever they took it, there was no warning of them taking it from it, it was clearly a steal in my case.

The official patch mod is a mod that will eventually be released as a community mod, fixing small errors in the vanilla game.

... Maybe we should have a separate area for actual fanfic, as I've noticed in-universe bug-reports have started to crop up recently... >.>
