Heh, I still love the IM90. +150 IM90 still kicks ass and you don't even have to take it that far... But I'm finding that ares rapid fire lightning turret is actually better against single opponents. In any case, I feel, they are prolly the best late game weapons for the freighter. They'll take out any thing upto sentinels with ease. The xenophobe arc mission is easy too if you use a green etherium crystal and take out all the fighters and defenders first. I usually just waltz in, stay put and blast away on autopilot...
The only thing you'd need to change the weapon for is the Iocrym - and for that I'm beginning to favor the IFC over the Sung Archcannon or the lamplighter because you can upgrade it.

I just tried the IFC+150 on some Ranx. The gunships go 'sploedy REALLY quickly, and it just EATS through the trans-uranic on the Dreadnaught.

Luminous are still highly easy ;)

And as for Ares..well....I tried it with 2 gems of contrition on a shipyard..it ate through the Deimos reasonably well, blew the chasms nicely, and simply obliterated anything else. Haven't seen any phobos yet....but I imagine it will be good.

Yeah. I did that by accident with a Ranx Fortress. That hurt.

Now, I know the only way to do this is by G.O.D Mod...but.....Iocyrm Avalanche Cannon+150%, anyone? :P

125 X 5 X 3.8 = 2375 damage per second.

Muahahahahahahaha......
MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA....
MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!

Now....if only we could use this ingame.

i don't have any issues with the IM90 and the iocrym, but i am really patient about kiting the sentinels. it may take me 10 minutes straight to kill the command ship, but dead is dead.

My mistake. I meant to say that the only thing to change it for is the Iocrym command ship. The sentinels go down nice and easy to the IM90.
Never really tried to take down the command ship with the IM90 but I guess if it works for you, then it's all cool.
I think the fastest way to take down the command ship right now is +150 IFC + NAMI heavy + Domina strengthen.
kytryn launcher may be better than NAMI heavy but there's a 5% chance to get pods in a game. (5% chance to find 2d12 pods on the CSC Europa wreck)

Just make sure you hit Defend as well. Otherwise, at that range there's a serious risk from the Avalanche cannon.

Not really, it only fires in a 60 degree arc in front of the command ship and the command ship turns very slowly. It's easy to avoid even if you're in a freighter. More troublesome are the repellers. They have a shorter range than your IFC but you have to be at the right range to hit the command ship with your IFC but not get hit by the repellers.

Using the IAC on a playership looks kinda silly, because the plasma stream is wider than you are...

I don't like ammo (non-launcher) weapons tbh...
1) you can run out of ammo
2) ammo takes up cargo space (and in the wolfen, you need all you can get)
Launchers ('cept the mag launcher) tend to be alright in my books, since they can handle a multitude of ammo, so chances are, you'll loot something usable pretty often.

I actually think the MAG is ok now. Still rather "meh", but it does at least function as a weapon now.
