Commonwealth station had 3 types of ROM: Shield enhancement, targeting and visual display enhancement.
That's the first time I had such good ROMs right off the bat.

In an RC6 game my very first rom was a damaged weapon rom. That ended that playthrough really quick..

Heh, that happened to me before. Learned my lesson tho... I don't use random ROMs anymore till I get some cash to atleast default to a weaker but acceptable item...

if i get a damaged weapon rom, it's instant restart. with the freighter, you're guarenteed 1/3 of those so if i can get either of the other 2 in the first station, it's a good haul. targeting rom is always the most important.

Yeah. You CAN use a tracking missile without the ROM.....but it's hard.

If anything, it reminds me of the AIM-7 "Sparrow-II" debacle in Vietnam....except I suspect the KM500 is rather more powerful.

Incidentally.....I've got a coupla questions about the KM500s big brother, the KM550 "Broadsword"

1. Have you ever come across a lot of them.
2. Are they worth it, compared to the mass-stocked KM500 or the OMGWTFOWNAGE effect of the XM900?

I'm thinking about making a B&B thread suggesting that they turn up in quantities similar to the KM500 in militia fortresses, at the rank the XM900 does currently...
