I played this game a lot up until summer of 2009. Decided to check back in and see what's going on.
I just downloaded the 1.1 version to give it a go. Feel like a noob all over again! :D
Looking forward to seeing what all has changed; and hope some of my old friends are still hanging around.

I love your image site, and I'm still mining it out for stuff to put in my mega mod :D

I have considered making playerships, compatible with Playership Drones, out of most of your ships, which look really nice. I did not because 20 facings ships turn too choppily and it is difficult to aim at enemies. Even 40 facings would not be enough for the bigger ships *IF* not for the fact that AI cannot pilot ships with more than 40 facings. (George will fix that bug eventually.) Rotating sprites to fill in missing frames usually makes the ship look wrong when turning.

As for which ships, preferably all of the large ships, but my favorites are the ye olde (Holy Thom's) pirate frigate and the Angelus. Also, some of the small ships, those with original designs (i.e., not derived from Star Wars or Transcendence).

You should try Playership Drones. When you do, enable its cheats and experiment with all the ships in the game, plus other mod ships if you get their PSD6-compatible patches.

Welcome back man, and yeah, 40 facings is now standard since PSD was introduced.
Things that have changed:
1. Wrecks you have not looted are green, wrecks you have looted are grey
2. There is an indicator as to where you will dock and which port you will be using
3. All systems in the game are generated when the game starts
4. Not much else

I suggest for your first mods to install:
1. Uncharted (it randomizes the number of systems and how they connect)
2. System Density (Puts more orbital bodies in each system, thereby giving you more stations per system)
3. Weapons Extended 5 (adds lots of neat stuff)
4. Visible damage (adds particle effects to show how damaged ships are)
5. PSD (makes all vanilla ships playable by buying them)
6. Reactor Packs 1&2
7. MiningPack by Transgeek and WillyTheSquid (makes minnig frikin awesome)
8. etc

I stop here simply because of how many amazing mods are out there now. Anything by Digdug, RPC, StarWeaver, or Wolfy is always good, and there are a few newer guys here now like Pixelfck/Refund, Doctor, and ShivanHunter(onhiatus) that have been releasing good mods as of late.

For a good mix of mods go to Succession and download the extensions, pick "Another Succession" instead of Succession #4 as 4 left off a bunch of good mods.

I love the graphivs which you've made, especially the station specific dockscreen art.

Minor nitpick: Not all ships may be purchased in Playership Drones (henceforth PSD), but there is a way to get ships that cannot be bought, and the latest version of PSD6 has a cheat that lets the player create (or swap) any ship out of nothing.
