There are two words to describe the experience. incredibly tough. it taught me that you shouldn't do stupid things like flying toward at phobos with invincible class deflector and omni turbolaser and xenophobes ion lancer. :) anyways.. it was awesome.. :D

i skipped destroying Ares shipyards and luminous assemblers. Almost every Ares shipyard i had encountered had a phobos patroling. dont wanna mess with them. i used your advice on previous threads regarding completing Heretic missions and the ICS.
When you're at Heretic, do these missions, and leave Kate for last (spoiler warning):
1. Ringer mission to kill the Huygens
2. Taikon mission to kill the Xenophobe Ark
2. MRAD mission given by Nares-Strong (if you're good at triangulating)

Then get kill the pteravore nests around the Heretic sun and let the pteravores run after you. Hide on a manipulator so you don't get hit.
Get Kate, the quarantine will lift.
If you can't find Kate you can talk to the CW station next to the inbound gate. Talking to the stationmaster reveals her location in the nebula and/or asteroids.
WARNING:
The timer for the sentinel attack starts the instant you gate, so be sure to be quick and mind the attacks -- if one of the three stations I listed above die, you'll have to do another mission, which take more time imo.

Killing the ICS
If you did the Antarctica mission in Dantalion you should get the gem, but you have to defend the Antarctica (don't attack it). Once you're done killing Aquilas, just dock with the Antactica again to get the gem of contrition. The gem of contrition knocks out everything (including you) to 1 hp, armors and all, so if you use Domina Defend => Contrition => attack ICS => instawin.
I used just that. and almost instawin. i was reduced to 1 or 2hp on my light iocrym armors. and ICS got 56% damaged. After that i unleased Ares warhammer nukes and my 50% enhanced im90. And the ICS went boom. :D I didnt find a plasma cannon in the whole game to try it. oh well. :) :)

Thanks. RPC. For the advice. :D As for the 14 hours i got lucky or very lucky. i found a taikon in clash with a phobos. Who won was no surprise. :) anyways. i managed to get a taikon 200 deflector, jotun, heavy ion blaster and two segments of light iocrym armor. After that saved up enough money to buy a IM90. Then used it complete CSC missions. :) :mrgreen:

i found a taikon in clash with a phobos.
Nice, usually endgame for me is getting the right weapons/setup. That probably explains how you shaved off 14 hours.

Finding an Ares Launcher and Warhammer Nukers is a great achievement. They aren't guaranteed in the game.(I think) Also, if it was me, I'd have follow that Phobos after it destroyed the Taikon, for a relatively easy chance at it's Archcannon. Seriously, that is the one most powerful weapon in the game. :D

When i was doing CSC missions, you know the unknown hostile, i fought 4 phobos and got 3 intact archcannon of them. :D i sold two of them and kept one for myself. but i couldnt install it no device slot available on Sapphire. anyways.. Awesome, warhammer nukes brought down the fleet of Aquila. unfortunately, destroyed their wreaks as well. so no loot. 8-)
Seriously, that is the one most powerful weapon in the game.

The Archcannon uses two weapon slots. If you have more than one weapons, try uninstalling two of them and install the Archcannon. It'll beat the final boss real quick even from full health. When you couple it with the Warhammer.... Well, it's the most powerful ammoless weapon with the probably most powerful ammo weapon together. :D

it's the most powerful ammoless weapon with the probably most powerful ammo weapon together.
Its perfect when preparing for the ICS but it does little when you fight with the xeno fleet. Ares launcher's use of micronukes is also invaluble. we should take APA and warhammer nuke into system after Heretic, when its made, lets see who can stand in our way.. :wink:

If level curve proceeds as expected, positron and plasma will be the laser and kinetic of Part II, and antimatter and nano will be the particle and blast of part II. Things will be outright immune to ion/thermo by the time standard level 16 armor shows up.

But the Iocrym uses Plasma, even their Command Ship uses Plasma as the main weapon. They can't be the Centauri of the Ancient Species, right?

That is the halo races perhaps or the Hierodules. :D

Anyways, to the ancients perhaps plasma tech is like, what's laser tech is to us. But If that's true, i don't think the ancients or whoever put Iocrym on guard duty might put "Centauri of the Ancient Species" i.e Iocrym to quarantine human space even if we are nowhere near their technological level. They would have send one of their best.. If Iocrym isn't the best, what is.? :?: :shock: :)

Damage type goes up a tier every three levels.
  • Level 1, Tier 1 = Laser and Kinetic
  • Level 4, Tier 2 = Particle and Blast
  • Level 7, Tier 3 = Ion and Thermo
  • Level 10, Tier 4 = Positron and Plasma
  • Level 13, Tier 5 = Antimatter and Nano
  • Level 16, Tier 6 = Graviton and Singularity
  • Level 19, Tier 7 = Dark Acid and Dark Steel
  • Level 22, Tier 8 = Dark Lightning and Dark Fire
Remember that Domina and Oracus is planned to have three parts. Part 1 in human space, part 2 beyond toward core, and part 3 at the core. Part 2 should feature items up to level 20, and 21+ for part 3. (Caveat: This is speculation based on what I remember reading from previous posts.)

PM, Domina's circle of wrath has a damage type of dark lightning and shatter, dark steel. and Oracus's followers use pentient cannon which has dark acid and oracus harass power uses dark acid as well. so i think we can safely assume super intelligent beings use the dark damage types. so i dont think we can get dark damage types weapons in part II. Off course this just speculation. :)
