:D don't worry! A large empire can't attack a little empire ( a large empire can attack you only if you attack it for first!) Read the useful guide written by Hallucination in the answer and question thread!

That had been my thinking when I wrote the guide, but large empires can definitely attack smaller empires if they are willing to swallow the per-attack unhappiness penalty. If it's one attack to take a single world or sector capital, some empires seem to be willing to do so. Nor is very aggressive and he has definitely attacked significantly weaker empires before. Keep us posted.

I've taken out abandoned one world empires before with an imperial might of like 1. You take a hit, as Watch TV says, each attack. What that looks like is almost every world in your empire will go from happy go to content, dissatisfied to aggrieved, rioting to rebelling, etc. Does not seem to effect worlds already rebelling, but it will often push a few worlds into rebellion. But if you're on Law & Order, when was the last time you were running short of imperial troops? So, definitely something to keep an eye on.

Best planetary defense against Minos are hypersonic missiles, but Nor also has 32k Gorgos there. Best thing vs Gorgos are jumpmissiles from a citadel or your own Gorgos. I'm close by but I can't field 32k Gorgos by Mandalor within the next day or two, let alone a few hundred thousand Minos.

Perhaps between several of us we could each contribute to a peacekeeping force in the area though. Anyone else in?

Nor here. I just wanted to comment that, while I expanded pretty aggressively for a couple of months, I've never fired the first shot in a war, whether or not the other side was in the Barricades Pact. I have wiped out empires that started wars with me, and that meant that a couple of times I got much bigger very quickly; and when a member of the Barricades Pact took an aggressive position against me I took a very aggressive position back. But-- Finnian can confirm this-- I was at pains *not* to start a shooting war; I just wanted my neighbor to back off. And when he did, I did too.

Things are a little different with Mandalor, since Mandalor's capital is right in the middle of my territory. I don't have any easy way *not* to look like a threat to Mandalor. But, for now and for the forseeable future, I plan to stick to my practice: I don't fire the first shot, and it's not my intetntion to be a threat to anyone in particular. I'm not going to shut down my preexisting shipyard-- it's a good efficient planet-- but It's not there to threaten Mandalor.

That seems to be a common theme now; if they're bigger than you and they're nearby you, they must be out to kill you. :| I think everyone needs to take a deep breath and stop judging empires by size until you've gotten a response from them. It'll stop a lot of wars, just sayin.

The time has come! Now I am writing a list of the members of the guild: (be free of correct me if I have forgotten someone)

1) Wayward Device, High Admin of the New Mars
2) Lord Riproviamo, emperor of Unaltravolta
3) Jaerevarr, Felor Urlassehld'drosshai
4) Lord Hoa0004, Emperor of Hoa0004
5) Lord Newbie, Emperor of Newbie
6) Me!, The Ambassador of the Finnians
7) Lord Hallucination
8) Lord Starnet
9) The charmant Lord Charminium
10) Lord Mandalorian

Looking the map of the galaxy we can see that except for some big independent empires our alliance is unifying the known universe.
The dimensions of the ancient Aelion's Empire are not so far.
I am proud of the goals achieved by our peaceful defensive alliance.
Long live the Barricades Pact!

The FFUS legislature has passed a resolution encouraging joining the Barricades Pact. It has been accepted by the Executive Council, and now we come forth to ask if we may enter.

Our capital is south-south west of New Mars, and due north of Mandalor and Charm City.

Our proposed strategy hinges on trade with Mesophons, we request that Kilade not be attacked.

As pre-stated, you have my vote! :)

I would request in general that no more Mesophon worlds be attacked. And if anyone touches the worlds in the nebula near my capital... Suffice to say it's going to be a dark day.

No. This is the former FUS(from alpha). I want to expand now, but can't because I am surrounded by RIPROVIAMO and NEWBIE.

So, instead of attacking them, which would probably result in immediate annihilation, I sell transports and use aes to buy other ships.

I am the controller of the Felor Empire, to your southwest. If you want, I could clear defenses from a couple of worlds for you; the abdication of the late Human Imperium left a a few clusters' worth of worlds to your far west (right at the edge of the board).
