Benelux
::4082::
This is a time of great empires!
61 cycles ago Benelux was discovered. The utter beginning was claimed in fire by the self proclaimed pacifistic empire The Forever Lost, which quickly took for themselves over a thousand worlds! Most likely to pacify them.
From then until now there has been an influx of great emperors yearning for power and might. The list is as follows:
The Forever Lost: worlds 1429
rock808: worlds 1083
Coalescence: worlds 589
Sovereign Remnants of Abbadon: worlds 382
The Technarchy of Jakarta: worlds 289
Sister's of the Stars: worlds 110
This is the current list. 3882 worlds out the 5000 have been claimed after not 61 cycles, but only a few deca-cycles, for it was a short while ago that the other's arrived to consume their piece of the pie.
This region of the galaxy is a tortuous one. Tendrils of the nebula run in long thin fingers intermixed with large rift clusters. Hidden worlds deep within the channels of the rift are scattered everywhere.
As empires do, the mighty have grown and claimed their spaces for their own with forces to match. I for one have never seen such a saturated map as this and wonder to myself from the far corner of a safe place at what will happen as the last independent world falls into the hands of these blood lust space emperors.
From my high perch, I will strive to bring updated news of the future expansions and contractions, tragic demises, utter defeats, absolute victories, and ridiculous shenanigans that will envelop the space between the void where all things occur.
Welcome to Benelux!

Fire, Fire, Fire;
Streaks of golden light,
Rays of cosmic waves crashing through still dead night.
Gifts of diamond rays,
Strewn pearls of days not measured,
Treasured gleaming quests fade through,
Absolute oblivion of infinite time of directionless direction.
And war died the day it noticed itself,
Peace, yet still dead, peace in the void of voids.
Upon a chance encounter,
The Life Tree came alight,
Strung with Golden-silver,
Dimensions of dimensions suddenly bright,
Collapsed under heavy night,
Reveal thy brilliant companion,
The Knife of Shadow-Light!
Strike down all that fight,
Yielding not to any might,
Striking down all in the deepest of night with their darkest fright.
Rays of cosmic waves crashing through still dead night.
Streaks of golden light,
Fire, Fire, Fire.

Welcome Benelux 2140
A long time has passed, and the galaxy is changed.
With the fall of The Forever Lost, the great galactic empires surged in size to claim their pieces of that fallen empire. Since the rush, the second grand empire, rock808, is also the next to be claimed by time. For whatever reason, that grand empire of over 1200 worlds is crumbling, slowly being eaten alive by the Grand Empires of the Galaxy. Of these, the grandest being Coalescence, coming in at a mind numbing 1244 worlds and growing. Next is Sister's of the Stars in worlds only at 992 and growing. They are followed closely in world count by The Technarchy of Jakarta at 903, but far exceeding in military power. Last but not least of the Grand Empires of Benelux is the Sovereign Remnants of Abaddon at 773 worlds.
All empires are slowly pushing into rock808's empire by grinding their way through the 25 period long sieges of hundreds and hundreds of undefended worlds. It is quite literally a conquest of presence.
Of the empires that remain, there are, like always, a constant flux of small blips of empires varying from 1 to 5 worlds before realizing being an emperor in space is like owning property, if you weren't there when the land was taken from the previous owners you don't stand a chance. There is one and only one empire that is proud of their small chunk and actively exploiting any free and independent worlds, that empire is New Jenthin with 62 worlds and growing--albeit at a snails pace. Regardless, they may be the only empire to survive any chaos that descends upon the Benelux Cluster.
To speak of world count is one thing, while empire strength is an entirely different story.
By the numbers, approximately:
Coalescence: Typhon-class star cruisers 260k, Megathere-class starcruisers 220k, Cyclops-class starfrigates 1.2M, Gorgos-class starfrigates 1.4M, Undine-class jumpcruisers 3.2M, Cerberus-class gunships 2.7M, Minotaur-class gunships 6.7M, Eldritch-class jumpships 13M, Warphant-class jumptransports 1.3M, Helion-class explorers 3.6M, Reliant-class jumptransports 3.4M, Vangaurd-class explorers 1.1M, exotroop brigades 2.1M, armored infantry brigades 1.1M, imperial guards brigades 3.3M, infantry brigades 7.1M, with various planetary defenses.
They're empire is of the quantum technology level.
The Technarchy of Jakarta: Megathere-class starcruisers 30k, Gorgos-class starfrigates 970k, Minotaur-class gunships 510k, Adamant-class jumpcruisers 2.2M, Eldritch-class jumpships 11M, Reliant-class jumptransports 10M, Vangaurd-class explorers 6.3M, exotroop brigades 1.2M, imperial guards brigades 3.8M, infantry brigades 8.4M, with very little planetary defenses to speak of.
They're empire is of the Quantum technology level.
Sister's of the Stars: Typhon-class star cruisers 26k, Megathere-class starcruisers 81k, Victory-class starcruisers 15k, Gorgos-class starfrigates 109k, Undine-class jumpcruisers 241k, Luna-class transports 194k, Seraph-class transports 1M, Minotaur-class gunships 3.6M, Adamant-class jumpcruisers 879k, Eldritch-class jumpships 957k, Warphant-class jumptransports 516k, Helion-class explorers 2M, Reliant-class jumptransports 4.5M, Vangaurd-class explorers 2.3M, exotroop brigades 121K, armored infantry brigades 1.2M, imperial guards brigades 3M, infantry brigades 10M, with various planetary defenses.
They're empire is of the antimatter technology level.
Sovereign Remnants of Abaddon: Typhon-class star cruisers 10k, Cyclops-class starfrigates 22k, Cerberus-class gunships 240k, Adamant-class jumpcruisers 10M, Eldritch-class jumpships 3.2M, Helion explorers 510k, Reliant-class jumptransports 8.7M, Vanguard-class explorers 1.1M, armored infantry 7.9M, imperial guards brigades 1.3M, infantry brigades 420k, with various planetary defenses.
They're empire is of the antimatter technology level.
New Jenthin appears to have enough forces to take control of local independent worlds.
As you may notice, each of the four empires have vastly different strategic force combinations at their disposal. One wonders how the varying configurations, each of a grand might in their own right, would fare against the others, however, it appears from an outsiders perspective that the Grand Four would merely descend into a conflagratory chaos that would envelop the galaxy until New Jenthin reigned supreme.
With only a tiny few amount of independent worlds remaining, we can conclude that the Benelux Cluster is conquered and ruled successfully at this point. All that remains now is to find out if the existing empires can remain at peace or will war erupt once the final remnants of rock808 are absorbed by their insatiable devouring hunger for more?
Until the grinding sands of imperial desires shift beneath the peaceful souls of those inhabitants recombines into some treacherous upheaval and cascades into the various cataclysms that are possible on the empirical scales of time occurs, we shall wait and watch as always.
