I made two weapons, the one is the firebeam and the other is the RPG

The firebeam is a dark fire weapon that fires probably well beyond the speed of light. It is also silent. The fact that it is a dark weapon means that it destroys every small ship with one shot, but because of how fast it fires, it is very difficult to aim. So it almost balences.

The other weapon is the RPG. This is a high momentum weapon. It fires two rockets that do blast damage.

The RPG isn't what I originaly wanted it to be. :( I wanted a something more like a real RPG. I wanted rockets that accelerated from however fast the ships is moveing to a very high velocity. But, alas, it is not possible (unless I am severly mistaken.) The acceleration value, when positive, causes the missles to slow down, when negative, it does nothing.

Acceleration value when greater than 100 causes missile to speed up and when less than 100 causes them to slow down.

true, so you just start with a low value for missilespeed and put a high number for acceleration and you will get a RPG accelerating missile.

For an example of weapon with a similar behaviour there is the quantumsphere disintegrator.

Ok, I tried it, and it didn't work. :( Does it have to have an initial velocity greater than 0? :(

yes, the acceleration is based on velocity, 0 velocity = 0 acceleration.

Ohhhh... So then the acceleration is a percentage of that? That makes sense. I will try it, and post my results.

What is poeples opinions of the firebeam?

Ok, I tried it, and I really don't like it. The RPG accelerated in whatever direction it was already going, which depended on what direction the ships was going. I really need missles that accelerate only forward. I worked fine when sitting still, but if you are moving backward faster than the missles go forward when fired, then the missle accelerate backward, and that is really weird. Another thing is the missle don't accelerate smoothly, they "jump" up speeds. This would be fine, except that they don't do it at the same time!:

left missle: jump
.5 seconds;
right missle jump
etc!

I actualy like them just fireing at a constant speed better than this!

Oh, if only things were perfect... (We would probably be board our of our skulls.) :roll:
