Is there a way to create new menus such as are used for the domina invokes and communication? I haven't really looked very far into it, but they don't seem to have a way to be formatted or altered for entirely new menu needs.
Is there, by any chance, a way to keep an item off the Enable/Disable and Use lists? How about some more optional lists attached to the number keys that could have conditions set for variety of attributes- If I wanted an item that had the ability to do more than a few things, could it have it's own little list instead of having to jump down into a dock screen?
What would be really, really cool too would be a dynamic style list that could have useable items loaded into it (think programmable spell book slots) and set up per player preferences. If you ever got a few hundred useable items you woul dfind that you had to cycle through them ALL to find the particular one you wanted. The current 'U' list is a bit primitive- why shouldn't we try a little more functionality there?
Is there a way to set text into the dockscreen where normally the items are displayed or main page graphic is? Is there a way to alter the menu for choices to allow scrolling of actions? It cuts off any actions past it's arbitrary limit which is more than a little frustrating.
How about some better formatting and conversation window options? Like adding icons with wrap around text, font sizes, and all the little perks of modern desktop design. Drop down lists and radio buttons a big plus!

The next version (0.99) will have a way for adding arbitrary text and images to dockscreens (where items are displayed). It will not be very sophisticated initially, but it will get better over time.
There is currently no way to create your own menus (a la Domina invoke) but it sounds like a good idea--though probably post-1.0.
If you want an item that can do more than a few things, your best bet is to attach a dockscreen to it. Look at how armor enhancement barrels are implemented.

it may be called something else, but i don't know what.Periculi wrote:What is an accelerator key?
i mean pressing u, then L to use the superconducting coil instaid of scrolling through the 30 or so usables. a dockscreen could be a good menu, but only if it is easily(quickly) accesible.
