I have too and when I destroyed the station I looked in there and there was a damaged deflector.

But when you shot at the station it didn't actually have a shield. I tested this multiple ways- throw a 10000 hp shield on a charon pirate cache and watch it totally not work.

Perhaps Stations are too large an object for our puny EarthSpace shield generators!

One solution is to take the the station and convert it to a ship that CANNOT move.

Why? Stations are treated with more abilities in the game engine, so changing a station to a ship reduces the usefulness of the station object.

what about using the same trick as George did with the CSC ?
CSC are ships with the order "hold" generated by a station that is without image and without hps.

Hmm.. and they have a bunch of the usual station features, and they are all run through a single ship type (Commonwealth Star Carrier). But did you notice they don't have any shields either?
