I just created to ships (a very strange Martok Defender and a creepy alien ship) with wings 3d. The only problem (aka the single problem) is that I don't know how to make with that ships some images.Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Dvelnk6 said he made some of his ships with a combination of wings3d and bryce.

Try rendering them first before you make more ships, so we can give you help/suggestions/etc with bryce/wings3d/your ships, so you don't waste time doing something wrong and then having to go back and doing it over again. + its easier to figure out now how to use bryce than later.
Hades or someone can probably give you a hand on using bryce in IRC:

(btw- if nobody seems to be on at first, just wait a shile- someone will come on eventually)

Ah... Bryce isn't another 3d modelling program? I tried it.

no, you make your model in wings 3d, and then you have to save it as a type of file that bryce can open. Then you use bryce to render it.
I'd recommend you ask in IRC about how to render with bryce and wings 3d. (since I just render directly from gmax or 3dsmax)

Wings 3D is just a modeler, it doesn't have a real render engine included.
But it's free and easy to use.
After making the mesh, just export it to 3DS format (that is commonly read by nearly all 3D software packages)
Import it in your favorite render package, I use Bryce 5.5c, it's outdated, and the interface is weird at the beginning, but it's free.
I use the animation of the camera of Bryce to render all the frames easily.
Here you will find how the light and the camera should be placed to render the frames:

When I will learn how to use Blender, I will switch to it for rendering my ships.
Moreover here you can find a list of free softwares for rendering and modeling:

Digdug! not that thread!
little modder and mod modder: DO NOT follow the instructions in this link- they are technically correct, but everyone who has read them has gotten messed up since the instructions are confusing.

wouldn't you just do "save as"?

oh I see what you mean now, instead of using "save as", go to "export" and then export as a ".3ds" file. This you then "import" into bryce and from bryce you save your RENDER as a ".bmp" or ."jpg"
