i cant program, i lack the talent to learn fast but im starting at XML, i was wondering if someone, who can program, would pair up with me (because i do have the power of over active and sci-fi inspired IMAGINATIIIOOONN :D) to make a new line of ship classes?
What do -I- do?...i blow S*** up :3

What do you mean by 'new line' of ships? A new sovereign, or just some new ships for existing races, or use the old graphics to make 'new' variants?

Making new ships is always appreciated, and once you get the hang of T-script ships are easy to make (but somewhat more difficult to balance)

It's quite easy once you understand. For a few days you'll look at code and go "this is bulls***" and then suddenly you'll have an epiphany and you'll know how to program. Start by modifying other people's code, that's the best way to do anything. Don't try to reinvent the wheel or the reactor or the laser gun.

Oh, and if you're interested in an RP... I wish Dalva would come back. I liked him.

The people who can do modelling and script have their own ideas. If you can do 3d modeling you might be able to team up with sosmeone who does script or visa versa, but ideas without implementation aren't worth much.

If I could learn Blender I would... since it's the program being used to develop for a game I'm going to help alpha/beta in awhile.

Of course that means I'd have to get off my ass.

As for questions about ideas, I get so bored at work I have an entire civilization planned out already, with ship graphic ideas, weaponry/etc., relation to other sovereigns, and all that jazz.
My first mod, mostly done, still balance testing.

Maybe its just me, but I'd rather not have people modding the game in ways they're not good at. If you can't do something well, don't release substandard mods. Do whatever you are capable of doing well, and ask for help to fill in the rest. If you can't do anything well, maybe modding isn't your thing.

If you can't create cool-looking 3D ships that fit in with this game, then maybe try scripting. If you can't script, maybe try creating new items. If for some reason you can't create custom items, maybe you should find another game to mod for, one that caters to your skills set a little better. Or just practice something until you're good at it. Just don't release every mod you practice on.
