I think I may have got it working for me now. I went back to the original version of Galactic Traders and went for a simpler system than I was playing around with.

Changes made

* Increased refresh times
* Changed item removal script to only reduce 'buy only' item quantity.
* Massively nerfed add-item script (when it generates an item to add there should only be a 1/100 chance of it actually being added)

The game changes should prevent me from being left with large stocks of unsellable objects in my cargo hold and make it worth rechecking some stations from time to time, without breaking game balance.

Sounds interesting what you have been doing. I second Prophets suggestion that you come on IRC one day... I would like to help you get up and running with this mod if you need it. I am home from some travelling and finally have access to my main machine and will probably be on quite frequently in a few days time.

I think there is quite a lot of the Galactic Traders mod you can rip out, and there are definitely some optimizations that can be made for the newer versions of T that will make it easier to work with.

I would suggest that you implement specific rules for specific stations, thereby making it easier to finetune what happens in each case. There are several ways this can be done, but I suggest you just play with it (like it seems you have already done :) ) I will be glad to try and help with any questions, here or on IRC

I think it does what I need it to do for now. I didn't like it that you could 'oversell' something to a station then it never buys it again - now you still have to wait a good while till it gets back to full price but it's not forever. I'm sure I could cut a huge amount out - but it's easier to leave it in :P
