I recently started playing v. 1.01. I added the upgradeable wingmen mod, but I can't quite get it to work. If I understand the instructions, you get your companion to dock, and then you dock with their ship. I can get them to dock, but can't join with them.
Is this a problem with the transition to 1.01? If so, does anyone know how to fix it? Or is this a case of PEBKAC---am I doing something wrong?

I haven't gotten the vanilla wingmen in the new version yet, but the mule and a custom ore collector auton upgrade just fine.
What are you trying to dock with? a wingman or a general auton (autosentinel, M1, etc). Autons(except for the mule) cannot be docked with, or therefore, upgraded. only the named wingmen(and the aforementioned mule) are affected.
Docking with a ship docked with a station can be a bit tricky. You must either position yourself in such a way that the ship's docking ports are closer than the station's docking ports, or you can target the ship. If the station has no free docking ports, your ship always tries to dock with the station if it is within range (assuming no target).

I tried docking with Jenna and Rama(?) and nothing happened. I had the targeting system locked on them too, so which I was docking with shouldn't have been a problem. Admittedly, this was when I had installed the mod halfway through a game, so not starting with it may have been a problem.
I've since restarted, but I haven't reached any wingmen yet. I did have a problem also where it wouldn't let me start a new game under a new player name. That's probably a question for a different forum, although perhaps it's an odd bug with this mod.
