So every Trans version 1.0X that comes out, I always like to use TransData to get info on all the shipclasses on a TXT file and get that onto Excel. However, when I tried that for 1.04, I got this:

Loading...
Unable to load module (StdWeapons.xml): ion disruptor: Invalid damage specification

So what's up with the ion disruptor?
I went ahead into the the .tdb file and found the disruptor, and within the <weapon> tags found this:

damage= "ion:5d6; deviceDisrupt2"

After using my godmod ship equipped with a Transpace jumpdrive, I found some Ventari and got "ionized". The ionization effect wore off after time [and my devices got repaired too], which probably means George implemented the ionization effect to lower the difficulty spike the Ventari posed when first encountered. (Seriously though, TeV9's DO look like Turbolasers after killing the Kronosaurus).
Questions:
Is ionization George's response to the Ventari difficulty spike?
Why is TransData v2.1 not able to process "deviceDisrupt"?

I am using Trans 1.04 and TransData v2.1.

Thats because there is transdata2.2 out, you have to download it from http://neurohack.com/downloads/TransData22.zip

Also, and side note, this information might be very useful to add to the wiki as the game progresses, what weapons and ships.

Is it safe to assume every new Transcendence version comes out with a new TransData?

No. Only when some of the internal data goes through changes severe enough. There have been several releases with backwards compatible TransDatas.
