I threw this together tonight, and have no idea if it breaks anything, but it should work with any mod that doesn't overwrite the standard star system tables (anything in &tbHumanSystemParts;). It makes non-unique systems (not Eridani, Rigel Aurelius, St. K's, etc) bigger and more populated, with more planets in a slightly larger area. Basically this means you'll get many more stations and stuff to do in a non-unique star system. Binary systems are smaller, and stargates are only generated in the inner part of a system so they're easier to find and quicker to travel between (unfortunately, they can still be on opposite sides of a binary system). Asteroid belts are a bit more dense, and ore asteroids are more frequent (because mining sucks).
